@Adamant Why that tag is not burned yet
@AnkitSharma Because people aren’t upvoting the answer that says to burn it. ;)
That’s how meta consensus goes.
@Adamant there is answer already, let me go and upvote it

It’s a slow process, though. I’m fairly confident that the “delete it” team will win out.
@Adamant I tried it and failed before so quit raising those concerns

It’s just that there weren’t “delete” and “keep” answers until recently.
But the upvotes on the comments saying to get rid of it suggest which option is more popular (as do the votes on the question to some extent).

I swear this chatroom is 90% picture of animals.
3
we're trying to change the room culture
I think there is some distance between unacceptable and offensive and all animal pictures.
well, we used to be about halfway between them and apparently that wasn't good enough so now we're going all out
that and it's not really on purpose, for some reason everyone likes animal pictures
I could talk about Aliens 3 since it turns out the Assembly Cut isn't bad at all
@Ixrec Do it! I'm curious, what makes it bettr?
11:15
well I haven't seen the theatrical version so I can't directly compare them
I guess we could do a "Does it have that stupid part where X?" and I could say "nope" or "X made sense because there was a scene where Y"
Bonus floof:
apparently a lot of scenes were re-added in the Assembly Cut that didn't make the original version for some reason
My recollection of Alien 3 is low, simply because of how boring it was when I saw it.
fair point
even this version certainly wasn't Alien- or Aliens-tier
That doesn't exactly shock me. Alien and Aliens are films from two incredible good directors firing on all cylinders.
Whereas Alien 3 is a heavily compromised film from a director still looking to make a name for himself.
SQB
SQB
11:26
It should've been Alien, Aliens, Alienses.
I like it about as much as Covenant anyway
can't actually decide which more, it's sort of a tossup between Covenant being a solid semi-remake of Alien, and Aliens 3 actually trying to be different but not having as much impact in the climactic parts
If it wasn't for marketing issues, a much better name for Alien: Covenant would have been Prometheans to be fair. It fits in with the Alien/Aliens naming convention, and also speaks to the themes of the film much better than the current title does.

He has seen all Jurassic Park films several times. Several times, as in "at least 10 times".
wow

I suspect him of rooting for the T. Rex.
which one? (in the movies with multiple)
@SQB can he distinguish the good movies from the bad ones yet?
SQB
SQB
The original T. Rex, in all movies she's in.
@zabeus I do that for him.
Jaws is on the list, but I need to rewatch myself to check for on-screen deaths.

Heh.
well, the shark does eat at least one guy on screen

Most deaths in Jurassic Park are surprisingly clean.
the Jaws deaths were mostly camera looking away and blood spontaneously appearing in the water
that last guy where the shark's actually out of the water on (what's left of) the boat might be worse
(yes I watched Jaws for the first time ever just last month)
@SQB I remember being slightly traumatized by the 'clever girl' death scene
@DaaaahWhoosh is that the one in the beginning? "Shoot her!" "Shoot her!!"
because that one slightly traumatized child-me for a little while :)
16:34
@zabeus can't say I remember that one, so... no
@DaaaahWhoosh yeah i checked clever girl is later in the movie
the problem with my knowledge of movies I saw as a child is that most of them were on TV, so I usually missed the beginning
same here, not sure how i missed that one

A: What will go on new post boxes when Prince Charles becomes king?

SQBRoyal Cypher The "E II R" is known as the royal cypher. In this case, it stands for Elizabeth II, Regina. The design of the royal cypher is not fixed; it doesn't have to take the form of Initial — Regnal Number — Title. They can be a bit more elaborate, such as that of King Charles II of Spain,...
