How did I miss that Eric Flint passed away last year? I wasn't super fond of most of his books, but he did a lot of other stuff, like working on the Baen Free Library.
(Not a slight on his writing, that was fine, I just wandered away from alternate history stuff. I used to read Turtledove too, but he doubled and tripled down on alt. history stuff and I got tired of it.)

A: Tag warning for story-identification

galacticninjaFollowing the Meta SE post “What’s the protocol for requesting a tag warning?” and TheLethalCarrot’s advice, I am suggesting a tag warning for the story-identification tag. This is based on the OP’s suggestion, the comments on their post, and our story ID guide: How to ask a good story-ID questio...

Q: Are there any conscious entities in the LOOP simulation or are they all just unconscious NPCS?

Conan HighwoodsI have not watched the movies or read the books of The Ring/Ringu, but I found out a while ago that it actually takes place in a VR simulation. I am wondering if any of the characters in the sim are conscious or are they they all unknowing and soulless NPCs?

Q: Black and White Movie About Fog That Kills A Seaside town

QuinnMy Mom swears she saw a movie on TV in the 70s where a fog rolls in and people start disappearing in a town by the ocean. She remembers there being a lighthouse, and the fog looked like normal, dense fog. She says it isn't The Fog (1980) and it might have been based off a book. I'm having trouble...

Q: How is this pitch for an adult Batman story with Barbara Gordon as protagonist>

Batman-JokerWARNING: The following is meant for a mature audience and deals with sensitive subjects including rape, psychological torture, vigilantism, and more. Also, a foreword. The proposed concept is an Elseworlds tale, and as such, takes creative liberties with Batman lore and may be a polarizing take. ...

Q: 90's sci-fi TV film with aliens or cyborgs throwing masks that attach to to people's faces

BastronThis might be a tricky one but I'll do my best once again. Story (fragments I remember) The film, which most likely was released direct-to-VHS around the mid-90s (also the time I watched it), takes place on Earth (a US city environment) and include some kind of aliens/otherworldly beings who cont...

Q: Short story or novelette about a planet where sex is not taboo

byteflushI think I read this short Sci-Fi story (or maybe a novelette) about 20-25 years ago. Can't remember where, and I'm sorry but I can't remember more details. It was probably published earlier, but I didn't get the chance to read it upon publishing as I was only fourteen 25 years ago. It's about a s...
