Though it's possible that the distinction in the meaning doesn't matter, because it's likely that by the time the last Silmaril was lost, only Maglor was still alive, and even if he lived it doesn't seem he can escape the doom.
By the way, to be clear, they swore vengeance on anyone who possesses a Silmaril, rather than on anyone else who possesses a Silmaril, so there's no better ending possible for that oath than all the Silmarils lost with nobody possessing them.
I am working on a project on this, and if anyone has the transcript, I'd love to know it.
I've heard it's the conversation that we see them have, but I'm trying to match up the exact speech to the lips which we see. Thank you so much if you could possibly help with this :)
I do not believe that in the original Stoker novel, Dracula once staked could be restored simply by removing the stake or any method. In subsequent works, the story is an "alternate history" in which he managed to escape, was not killed at all. But eventually, it seems like he returns by indeed j...
There was a cartoon I used to watch as a kid in the 90s that had a featured two boys and I'm pretty sure a girl. They played a VR video game where an UFO would land and they'd go through waves of them. Then for some reason the aliens got a lot more difficult. Later on there was an evil scientist ...
I'm trying to remember the name of a manhwa I started reading; I think it's fairly new, within the last 3-4 years at least.
I can't remember what the female lead (fl) looks like, but she let the story pass her by, spending her money, and was happy with the ending. She really wanted the second mal...
I remember that the fl has either white/black hair she is an orphan and gets adopted. her adopted family includes two brothers a mother and father (i think the father? im not sure) the girl who gets adopted apparently looks a lot like their younger sister who passes away (i think in a car acciden...
In Neil Gaiman's novel American Gods (10th anniversary 'long' edition) in chapter 18, Easter and Horus go to get Shadow from the ash tree. The farm itself is described to be a mere ruin, just a few walls left. And the ropes are also described as old. But Mr. Town's visit to the ash tree was on th...
I read this in a second-hand book in the 90s, it was either a short story or a novella.
A lone alien landed on Earth. It could easily understand and control nearby people's thoughts, and was not friendly. The government became aware of it early on, but it was good at hiding. Some points I remembe...
I was recently reminded of this when reading a story about a zombie apocalypse and the trope of keeping a zombified loved one locked away in hopes of a cure. In this case, I don't think there was an apocalypse, but it was simply a matter of that the mother hungered for flesh. Her daughter (there ...
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, just before the Battle of Hogwarts begins, McGonagall conjures multiple patronuses to alert other teachers. After learning that summoning multiple patronuses can be done, I was curious if it was possible for a witch or wizard to summon multiple patronuses ...
This was read to me when I was in elementary school (in Ashland, KY if that's relevant) probably around 1987-1990 (it's possible it was a book used in education at the time, or was a Scholastic or Newberry winner, and that's why it was read). The protagonist is a caucasian male, in either the Uni...
In the Cyberpunk universe, over usage of implants eventually leads to one losing their humanity and becoming mindlessly violent cyberpsychos. However, there is one exception -- Adam Smasher has been almost full Borg for years and yet he retains his self-control and mental faculties. How did he ac...
Back in High School, we read this story in English Literature class that had a very similar vibe and story as Cain and Abel did. I believe these two siblings lived on a turtle and they fought each other which resulted in one of them being the “bad” sibling who became the night and the “good” othe...
All I remember that the alien had three forms: one shoots fire, another is strong and I think the last one was fast.
There was an episode where the alien friend of the main character reads superhero comics and creates a new form for the main character where it is muscular and has a cape.
Another ...
Okay so, when I was younger, I used to watch a cartoon but I forgot its name. If I remember correctly, it was about a boy who had an old father who was a blacksmith. That boy I think had a blue jacket on and he could teleport. Then I think he made like a friend group with some people like a magic...
