Q: 2 questions sci-fi stories from the 1950s

user985675The first is a Ray Bradbury story about rich American tourists in Mexico doing the "ugly american" thing. But then nuclear war destroys their homeland, while the story chronicles their helpless descent from rich overlords to penniless vagrants in a suddenly strange land. The second is about 3 ast...

Q: 80's/90's novel about a post-apocalyptic gunman, NOT GUNSLINGER, ending with the first atomic bomb test?

Stephen SeehornFirst up, this is NOT Gunslinger by Stephen King, lol. I read this in the 90's, but it could have been from the 80's. It was about a cowboy type guy in a post-apocalyptic future who made his own bullets for his six-shooter, and I remember distinctly that it ended with him killing the main bad guy...

It doesn't seem to be possible to edit an answer to a closed question. Is it possible to get a question temporarily re-opened for editing, or for someone to add something to it? I found an Internet Archive link for "The Old Army Game", in the answer to this question scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/42620/… .

You should be able to edit an answer to a closed question
Are you getting an error?

I just learned that there's a new Indiana Jones film in preparation, to be published in 2023, starred by Harrison Ford and produced by Steven Spielberg. That sounds like a family movie that I'll want to watch, and then possibly ask questions about it here.

@TheLethalCarrot Maybe I'd just somehow missed the "Edit" button on the answer, I didn't spot one :-D It seems to be there now. Sorry about that.

That will likely precede the next Star Wars films, since those don't have a release year known yet.

Q: Why does Rita Skeeter blame Arthur Weasley for "involving the ministry in such an undignified and potentially embarrassing scene"?

QwertyIn the chapter 'Mad eye moody' of the goblet of fire, malfoy reads an article from the daily prophet. Now I know Rita is infamous for her exaggerated accusations, but this is a straight up lie.. I mean it doesn't make any sense. Arthur was just doing his job, granted he was covering for Moody so ...

Q: Does canon mention Helga Hufflepuff's chamber?

J. MiniI've searched high and low and I was certain that this was in the second canon book, but I can't find it. I distinctly remember Professor Flitwick joking that anyone seeking out the Chamber of Secrets should instead seek out "Helga Hufflepuff's Chamber of Hard Work and Practice" (or some words to...

Q: The 27th Day: What is the reason humans need to die and why do the aliens think the scientists will do this?

releseabeJust saw this apparently big-budget scifi flick on Youtube and watched the scene where "The Alien" explains the situation. As I understand it: The Alien's race will be destroyed by a supernova -- they therefore need a new planet. They want Earth but their moral code prevents them from directly k...
