Q: Work about Earth or humanity being destroyed for being peaceful

Rune StephensonI'm sure it was a book, but it could have been a film, or even a video-game plot element. Apologize if I've mixed up any facts - I don't think I've come across this again in the last 20 years! I read this "book" a long time ago, and a small part of the story refers to the Earth being visited by ...

@Mithical alright, let's do this
Friendly reminder for folks that titles, other answers to the question (and the question) and such often need editing too ;)

Q: Why didn’t Iron Man just fly away from Thanos after stealing his Infinity Stones?

user74261Iron Man's booster (as seen in Avengers: Infinity War' second trailer) should be able to fly away from a much weaker Thanos who is now without the Stones. Specifically to go to someone like Hulk who has proven to be able to survive after snapping. Even if he couldn't outrun him, he could still ...

Q: At the start of Ursula Le Guin's "The Tombs of Atuan", who were the figures in white and black?

Marnanel ThurmanAt the beginning of The Tombs of Atuan, when Tenar is mock-sacrificed to the Nameless Ones: A figure in a belted gown of white wool stepped suddenly out of the shadows at the right of the throne and strode down the steps to the child. His face was masked with white. He held a sword of polishe...

Q: When did the Millenium Falcon lose its front part?

Sovereign InquiryIn Star Wars: Solo, we see the Millenium Falcon for the first time when Han Solo was young, and when it wasn't just a hunk of flying trash. It was smoother, it had blue paint, and looked as good as new. But the most different part, other than the fact that Land O' Calrissian owned it, was that th...

Flagged as Not An Answer per the above... Not sure why its first time in the Low Quality post didn't delete it, it had 6 "recommend deletion" and no "Looks OK" votes. (review link) — Jenayah 8 secs ago
Flagged as Not An Answer errr... Mostly because the Very Low Quality flag isn't available anymore on this answer. The fact is that it brings about zero quality to the site, does not source its facts and I'm not even sure it's Teen Wolf-specific. I don't remember the handcuffs bit, for instance (though obviously I could have forgotten it). — Jenayah 17 secs ago

Q: What story is the idea that it's better to pick a small box rather than a large one from?

Aeon AkechiFor as long as I can remember, whenever I'm presented with a choice between a small and a large box in a video game or something, I've had the idea that I should pick the small box rather than the large one. It's similar to The Honest Woodcutter, so I imagine it's also from some sort of fairy tal...

Q: How did Lt. Stiles know that Romulan ships are painted with a bird of prey?

RichSAfter the Treaty of Algeron, the Romulans had stayed on their side of the Neutral Zone for a 100 years. Nor were there contacts by subspace radio since the Romulan War. When a cloaked ship attacks Federation outposts along the Neutral Zone, Captain Kirk says nobody knows what the Romulans and th...

@Jenayah Posts with a positive score can't be deleted just from Low Quality reviewers.

So what, the review just counts for nothing?

No, it raises an automatic moderator flag.
Which is probably why the post got a notice added to it in 2019.

Great...

@Jenayah Question asks "What feats of strengths have been shown?" so that does seem to be an answer, albeit not a very good one.

This old "not pushing to the LQP queue twice" is not great IMO
@Randal'Thor an answer which gives "facts" that Im not quite sure actually were in the show to begin with

If it's a wrong answer, that's what downvotes are for.
If you're "not quite sure" whether it's right or wrong ...

Well I'm not rewatching 6 seasons for the sake of a crappy answer.

Sure, nobody's forcing you to do anything (including flagging / voting on an answer if you're not sure whether it's correct or not).

If I may though, I think that's the kind of stuff that may have been better dealt with by letting it "stay" for a while to let folks who actually know of the show take action
Well, I'm assuming you haven't, since IIRC you're not much into TV and movies stuff
I'm also not saying stuff must only be handled by mods who know the source material, just that as it got bumped anyways, there'd be eyeballs on it

It's definitely an attempt to answer the question, so I'm not sure why it would be deleted.
If it's wrong, someone who knows the source material well enough can comment to say so, and it can accrue downvotes.

Q: How does the starship registration system work in Star Trek?

Sovereign InquiryLa Sirena, a Kaplan F-17 Speed Freighter, piloted by Cristobal Rios, and first introduced in Star Trek: Picard, was described as "an unregistered, warp-capable" starship, according to Memory Alpha. Chris, or "Rios," as the crew would call him, is a good, responsible, well-trained pilot. It makes...

Q: What Star Trek movie/show are these images from?

DrubbelsThis YouTube video contains a few shots I can't quite place, apparently featuring a girl missing her school shuttle. I'm not extremely well-versed in old Trek, but these images look very modern, meaning they have to come from Discovery, Picard or one of the Kelvin films. As far as I know I'm...

A: Ways to improve and promote Science Fiction and Fantasy

MarthaWhat’s that ‘one thing’ you wish the site had, handled, or did differently? Well, that's easy: stop closing questions as duplicates because of similar answers. Either the questions are asking the same thing, or they're not. If you can't tell until you look at the answers, please consider whether...

I happen to mostly agree here

@Mithical The second paragraph in particular makes a very sensible point.
But of course it's always been a controversial issue, with some users on both sides of it saying their viewpoint is the only sensible one.

A lot of things are controversial on SFF meta. ;)

Oh, Martha, I think I can guess that topic.
(Which isn't a jab at her more than saying she's a prominent face in a specific meta discussion.)

Q: What creature does the dinosaur-like skull on Ahch-To belong to?

sauron496Here's a screenshot. You can see it in The Last Jedi in the brief underwater shot when Rey falls into the dark side well. It's immediately preceding the famous "mirror Reys" scene; on the Blu-Ray, it's at the 1:13:56 mark. I was unable to find any reference to what that skull, very much resem...

The last sentence is quite poignant indeed.

@NapoleonWilson I guess you still mean the meta post.

Well, yes.

These interjections by Marvin and his friends give rise to a new form of leapfrogging.

*resisting, resisting*

We might as well rename Marvin to Michigan J. Frog.
Breathe! You forgot to breathe again!

Q: What is a review in Science Fiction and Fantasy?

Sovereign InquiryWhat is writing a review on SFF:SE? I'm not sure why, but there's a new icon in the top , along with the inbox, reputation, help, and "other sites" icon. It has "queues" for reviews and other things. What are these reviews for?
