Q: How do kids know Voldemort’s name if they’ve only every called him You know who?

Dee VeeAt first I was curious how muggle born kids knew Voldemort’s name if every one refuses to call him by his name and only refers to him as you know who but then I started thinking. If everybody always calls him you know who how do even wizarding children know Voldemort name? From what I can tell te...

Q: M-113 from Vietnam to sword and sorcery land, fights dragon

Italian Philosophers 4 MonicaRead it around 1978-9. Wizard plucks an M-113, about to be RPG-d from the jungles of Vietnam, with its crew and dumps it into a medieval hack and slash land with various non-human races and some magic. The new king there is near-sighted and wasn't anyone's first pick when his dad died, but he e...

Q: Why does the Ministerio use famous people?

AdamantAmong the agents of the eponymous Ministry of Time are such luminaries as Maria Pita and Diego Velazquez. Perhaps there are even some among the focal characters: I might not be too up to date on history, so I don't know whether Emelia is a real person, but as the first woman to go to college in S...

@Gallifreyan I missed it in two watches, and only noticed it because I was freezing the scene to check what the trivia questions were.
I recall in the book there was a joke about Elvis Presley's (not) death among those questions.

@SQB I see my drive-by upvote on Puzzling inspired you to a bit of editing :-)

SQB
@Randal'Thor yeah. I don't get that much "rep for jam", so I often check my post to see if I still like it. If I don't, I'll edit it. And to be honest, the possible extra rep from the bumped post doesn't hurt either.
Also, thanks.

@SQB No worries. I was hunting through a few old hat questions looking for a dupe target for a new one, and found some things I hadn't upvoted before.

Q: Story about Hermione granger and Draco Malfoy love story

Janelle StackI read a Hermione and Draco love story a few years ago on Quotev but I think it has been deleted since. It was about Draco being forced to stay with Hermione during a probation period forcing him to be under surveillance and with no magic until he was deemed reformed I think. Hermione lived at ho...

Q: In The Matrix, how would the machines have interpreted Cypher's request?

Michael StachowskyWhen negotiating with Smith in the restaurant, Cypher says: I don't want to remember nothing... This is a double negative, but through context it is clear that he means "I don't want to remember anything". Is there any official information on whether the machines intended to follow that re...

Q: How does light speed skipping work?

Ivo BeckersLight speed skipping as shown in the beginning of The Rise of Skywalker raised a lot of questions with me. Was it a coincidence that each skip resulted in ending up close to the surface of another planet, or was it planned? With the majority of space being empty it seems very unlikely to be a co...

@Marvin base question is good, though. How does light speed skipping work?

Short light speed trips combined together I guess
Shame they asked lots of sub questions though

SQB
Yeah.
Those might be answered by the answer to the main question, though.
Some of them, anyway.
Fellow Dutchy. Might be useful to mod-ping him in here and work with him, to get a better question.
Ah, he's already on it.

Q: What material is Kylo Ren's helmet made of?

ShreedharAccording to a Star Wars fandom here, Darth Vader's helmet This [helmet] had a raised ridge that ran from between his eyes to the back of his head, where it merged into the durasteel, obsidian, and plasteel of the helmet itself. In addition, it was also rumored that the helmet's already stron...

Q: Why didn't Obi-Wan dodge Jango Fett's grappling hook?

Billias13In this scene Jango Fett used his grappling to prevent Obi-Wan from catching his lightsaber. But Obi-Wan is a Jedi, he has the ability of precognition; I mean he can reflect blaster bolts. I guess the grappling hook travels slower than a bolt in air. Why he don't just dodge it? ...

Q: What is the time skip between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker?

TheLethalCarrotThe Rise of Skywalker takes place sometime after The Last Jedi. It doesn't pick up straight after because the Resistance has a new base and is running operations again. Rey is also in training and seems to have read her way through the Jedi texts quite well so there is some not insignificant time...

PSA: Wookiee has a double "e". That goes for Wookieepedia, too.

That one of your pet hates?
I've seen you correcting it a lot over the past few months

Because I've seen a lot of users making that mistake, especially recently with the release of the latest movie.
Any misspelled word bugs me, I just happen to see that one a lot.

TBH I don't think I've made the mistake when writing Wookiee but I can never spell Wookieepedia right on the first try

SQB
Hard to search for on main, though.
Actually, I stand corrected.

Yeah, I purposely don't search for the misspelled word, I just correct them as I come across them.

@SQB Would it be an abuse of my mod privileges to fix that username?

9 poor misspelled Wookiees on SFF
Good luck @SQB I'll see you in 2030 when you finish correcting them all :P

SQB
Argh! Two instances of single-e Wookie are a quote and the name of a website.

@DavidW Wikia links are now mostly Fandom ones. If you're editing the link to https it's best to just use the new fandom one instead to avoid the redirect in case it goes down
And also the Memory Alpha redirects didn't work for some people, I'd imagine it might be a similar case for other wikia ones

Ah, right. Thanks, I wasn't paying sufficient attention.

Q: Is my story identification question on-topic considering the plot?

Kodos JohnsonI have been trying to identify a movie that my dad told me about once.
