Q: Is Superman beating up the human bully in Superman 2 consistent?

releseabeThis is the diner scenes where Superman first, after being reduced to being a human, was humiliated by a bully and then returns with his powers restored and beats up the bully. Now it looks like he was careful not to cause severe injury but may have caused a concussion -- not sure his code would...

Q: Is the Dark Side evil, or only users of the Dark Side?

BatpersonThe Sith and other users of the Dark Side of the Force are unambiguously portrayed as evil (at least in the movies). It's taken as axiomatic that even if someone resorts to the Dark Side for good motivations, they will become corrupted and evil before long. The Dark Side doesn't seem to have any ...

Q: Are Romulans related to Xenomorphs?

Armin DererIn the first episode of „Star Trek: Picard“ the character Dahj is attacked for a second time. During the fight it is revealed that the attackers are Romulan. Dahj fights off all the attackers, but one of them, obviously wounded, spits a green substance on Dahj and a gun she is holding. The green ...

Q: Space opera book about a group of adventurers

JamilIt consisted of three or four stories, I remember one story: on a planet where the biggest casino is located a monster appears every night, and kills(steals?) one person. In this story main character is not the leader of the group, but a guy who was locksmith and hacker and spent a lot of time in...

Q: story-identification: children's mystery book set in mid-20th c western US

CraigOkay, this has nagged me for years. I read a children's book circa 1970, set in the western US in early-mid-20th century. Horses and trucks both. A mystery. Protagonists two boys and one girl. There is a lost treasure (a mine?) in a hidden valley somewhere in a small mountain range. One chara...

Q: Why couldn't Hela defeat Surtur?

Baby YodaIn the end of Thor: Ragnarok movie, Hela failed to stop Ragnarok and presumably died in the battle with Surtur. But, why did this happen given she was so powerful (she destroyed Mjolnir by hand and defeated entire Asgardian military all by herself and even Thor couldn't do anything to her by bigg...

Q: All the ways a character could die on spacecraft?

Happy treeLooking for scientific ways to kill characters off while in space, particularly freezing to death. Other options would include: suffocation or poisoning. The scenario includes a group of people trapped in a section of a space ship while / just prior to landing on a planet.

Q: Which major characters lack Aura?

AdamantWatching RWBY, I've noticed that most characters, even the ones who aren't necessarily combat-oriented, have an Aura of some sort. For instance, Arthur Watts, whom Salem recruited as a hacker who was never supposed to get in a fight, has an Aura, albeit a fairly weak one to judge by how many tr...

@AncientSwordRage do you like your comment clean-up flags per comment, or one for the post as a whole?

When I've asked mods before they each prefer it differently
I usually use whichever seems best for the specific case

SQB
Yeah. Only mod present is ASR, so I'll just flag in their preferred format.

Well only in chat at least :P
It depends though, if all want nuking, use just one flag surely? If it's 50% or less and there are lots easy to use individual ones

A: Novel with teleportation and possibly called "Burning Man"

FuzzyBootsI think this is The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester. It was originally released under the title Tiger! Tiger!. The 1980 Dutch translation was titled De Brandende Man, which translates to The Burning Man. At the time when the book is set, "jaunting"—personal teleportation—has so upset th...

Otherwise I'm fine with flagging the whole thing
I've deleted some

Q: Why is Batman acting so out-of-character with Jarro?

JenayahJustice League #10 introduced Jarro, "Starro in a jar", born of a fragment of Starro, who died in Justice League: No Justice #3 (2018). Jarro is mainly monitored by Batman, and no other Justice League member seems to be baffled by his presence. Even more, Batman (and no other Leaguer, but most...

Q: In Star Trek discovery, why are the crew so reckless?

Q: Animated children's show from the early 2000's - drink turns you into an alien

AtsinaI'm trying to remember something from approximately 18 years ago that I saw on cable TV. It was an animated sci-fi story that took place on some kind of spacecraft. The only detail I really recall is that one of the characters drank a can from a vending machine and then morphed into an alien. I w...

Q: Novel about a trio of children with strange powers who team up to get rid of a strict nanny

Emma CI read a book in elementary school but I can't remember the name. Here's a few things I can remember: a man gets married to a goth lady with 3 kids. One is a little girl who can seemingly turn into a cat, the middle child is a scientist who does crazy experiments, and the oldest child is thought ...

Q: In Star Trek Discovery episode three, why let the tardigrade out?

fominIn an early episode of Star Trek Discovery, one of the crew members deliberately lets out the (seemingly) murderous and invincible tardigrade. Unsurprisingly, this doesn't end well. Why would she do that when she must have know that a phaser would not stop it and that it would kill her and most l...

@AncientSwordRage I considered flagging, but thought I'd ask here. I don't know if that Gravatar is intentional, or just unfortunate.

@SQB fwiw it seems to follow the Gravatar pattern

@SQB seems harmless as it's a) not intentional, and b) not an exact match

BuzzThe original character of Falcon debuted in Captain America no. 117 (1969) and soon became Cap's partner/sidekick. MikeCI've been trying to figure out the rules for Enagulishuc, the English dialect spoken by Gukuy (and demons) in Eric Flint's 1997 first novel "Mother of Demons". The Gukuy are alien mollusks with siphons for mouths who develop their own accent/dialect of English. I also posted this question on the...

Q: Who is the most powerful biotic in the original Mass Effect series?

Michael SchmitzI have always wondered who was the most powerful out of all the biotics in Mass Effect. I don't need this, but if you could help that would be great. By powerful I mean their biotics need to be strong and recharge decently. Also, the character can't be Shepard, because Shepard is the main charact...

Q: How could Skynet succeed in killing John Connor

ShadiIn Dark Fate, we see that one of the t-800 sent back in time killed John Connon in 1998. But since the past cannot be changed, none of those terminators succeeded in ...

Q: Is Hela, in fact, the rightful heir to Odin's throne?

RogerIn the movie Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Hela says: "I am Hela, Odin's firstborn... the rightful heir to the thrones." Is she, in fact, correct? Is she the rightful heir? I recall lots of people fighting her for various reasons but I don't seem to recall anyone actually refuting her claim.
