Mods can chat can’t they? Chat to their site ROs. Easy leash lemon squeasy. I doubt there’s ebough active rooms to make it a real problem, and we have a mod and an RO who can chuck rubbish back out

I think the problem may have been we considered (tried?) trash compacter, but I'm not sure.
Sort of.
Wookieepedia has it as "Garbage Compacter".
From time to time I chuck a Trump-tweet on Skeptics. It's almost like rep-farming.

Q: In California, is water from the north diverted into the Pacific Ocean?

SQBPossibly addressing the Californian wildfires, president Donald Trump claims that in California "water coming from the north" is "being diverted into the Pacific Ocean". Governor Jerry Brown must allow the Free Flow of the vast amounts of water coming from the North and foolishly being divert...

That's my latest, just asked. It hasn't gotten any votes yet.

12:01 PM
Yes the river basins in the West of the US do indeed run into the Pacific ocean, this is correct.

12:15 PM
@Edlothiad Re active rooms, that's where you're wrong. Your suggestion would require the mods on all 200 sites to inform all ROs of all 1000 active rooms that there's a particular SFF chatroom they should avoid when trashing unwanted messages.

As if all 200 sites have active rooms... There might be 1000 active rooms, but the 5 minutes it would take to inform the room owners if it was an issue, is so insignificant it's ridiculous...
For the banter, I'd tell em all myself!

Some nice short Harry Potter stories there.

1:55 PM
That top one is brutal

ahahahah
Reminds me of these comics:
Some of them feature Dumb Dumbleydore
they're funny!

I've only seen the films so don't know if the tournament is accurate but never really understood the whole stadium looking at nothing for all of the events

They don't even have giant screens broadcasting the thing, lame
#MugglesDoItBetter

2:52 PM

Haha, had a quick look through some
They seem alright

:D

3:26 PM

Oooooh, colored XKCD :o

A meh one though

aye

Finish 30 mins early on Fridays :)

Eh I'll stay later than usual, productive day today

3:33 PM
I have not been productive haha

Being alone in the office isn't really a thrill tho

Alone and productive?
Something doesn't add up

Most of the guys work from home, the guy who usually comes to the office is on holiday and fellow intern f**ked off at noon ahah
Yeah I don't know it works somehow :p

I don't think I could work from home
No way I'd manage to stay productive

Neither
What I especially don't like is that it makes it more complicated when you need someone's help to fix stuff
I never really know if I'll be disturbing them even if the Skype icon is green

3:38 PM
Yeah I get ya, I don't like walking to the next office and disturbing people most of the time haha
More difficult if you can't even see the person
Though I suppose means it's easier for them to get back to you as and when

Also, paying the travel to a foreign country, and the rent there, and the life etc when you end up using Skype and a software you already had on your computer is annoying, but well, couldn't have known before

You moved to another country to work for someone and could have just worked from home? That what you mean?
Also why do you use Skype? Seems like Slack or something would be better

It's an internship

Gotcha

It's a requirement to spend some time abroad in my studies to get the diploma

3:40 PM
You do work during your internship?

Well the guys are on Skype so we are too

@TheLethalCarrot Lync? Uses Skype I thinks
We have it too

It has been said time and time again but Ed, how have you not been fired yet?

Because I can’t be

@Edlothiad I don't produce as much results as I would like to (because I take a long time to understand the code), but yeah I work, why?

3:42 PM
Cos Ed does not

Survive the first three months and they gotta keep me for last 9 of the internship

Lol, sorted that out then

Ed presses keys when people walk past then goes back on YouTube

ahah
you remind me of something, wait

I think I logged 5 hours of YouTube today

3:43 PM
oO
they pay you?

4 hours of non-YouTube procrastination, and 20 minutes of work
Hell ya they pay me, better then most of my friends who actually work

oO
so... no weekly reports or stuff?

Well ye, but no one was around this week
I also just rerun the same thing as last week, mention something that I know will set the other two guys off, and they bicker for an hour

Oh come on... x)
And somehow this is the kind of guy who will be preached at the end of his internship. You read it here first.

I’m the master procrastinator

3:47 PM
He's mastered the art of doing nothing whilst appearing to do something

They’ve already asked if I was interested in returning
LOOOOOL

So, I guess you said yes?

I should give Ted Talks or something

Ahah

Nah, I wasn’t interested
I have further education lined up, and am planning on changing fields

3:48 PM
Oh?
Where do you wanna go next?

I stayed on after my apprenticeship and am a salaried employee, though unlike Ed I actually work haha

Although the company only has themselves to blame, I signed up for a hardware engineering role and they’ve only given me software engineering tasks

(mattress tester? :p )

Hey the first 7 months I did work like 60% of the time

60% of the time I worked 100% of the time

3:50 PM
@Jenayah Ideally, the Jet Propulsion Lab

What, I thought it was 3 months of harsh survival and you were done?

Nah 3 months of effort to not get kicked out, then 9 months of “welcome to the family” which to me means “we can’t fire you”

^^

And I don’t really do real work, I just automate other people’s jobs for them because they don’t want to do it themselves

4:13 PM
Roger, roger

What's our vector, Victor?

Greetings, Earthlings.
