@Stephie Hi! I'm sorry I missed you too! I'm glad things are going well with your growing. Your pictures are lovely, and I wish I could taste your yummy food. The descriptions are mouth-watering! Since I'm nosy, I'm curious where your hubby was in the US and why? Was it a work thing? I'm sorry about your nasty cold. Those are tiring and draining!
@Stephie Easter was nice, thanks! We're devout Christians who believe strongly in the resurrection of Jesus which we celebrate on Easter. (No offense to any who disagree!) I think my friend @J.Musser shares a similar faith. That being said, we slept late and skipped church!! That's okay-Jesus loves us anyway! We spent the day with some of our kids and grandkids. They call me Nana so I call them my Nana-kids instead of grand-kids. So, those two Nana-kids are 4 (the boy) and 2 (the girl).
They're really cute! We laughed a lot and enjoyed everyone. The kids ate a ton of sugar and we got to leave before they came crashing down! :)
@Shule Hi back again!
@Alina, Hi! It's so nice to see you again. Hope all is well!
@GrahamChiu Rheumatology is a very important field. There have been a number of important advances in treatment in the U.S. in recent years, and from what Google just told me the same is true in New Zealand. I hope it's an exciting time for you.
I know people who've been badly affected by rheumatoid arthritis, and it's quite debilitating. My issues are more bone and nerve related.
@Bamboo, that duck surprised me too! I kept asking Google how to get rid of it, until I found out it was SE's April Fool's Joke. I had looked up the website Stephie gave you and say the SE reference. If you google Stack Exchange or Stack Overflow, you'll find that we're really famous! It's great to be part of something this huge, even though my part is tiny. The programmers have a lot of "inside jokes." This was apparently one of them!
@VividD I think I saw someone leave you a comment about a bird biology question you might have deleted? I didn't see the question so I don't know how technical it was. I don't use the biology site. I am obsessed with animals, including birds! We garden specifically for our birds, squirrels, chipmunks, etc. There are some bird questions at The Great Outdoors. Look around if you want, and if you think your question would work over there, please post it!!

@Sue :)

I'm about to plant onions.

@Sue @NiallC. @Stephie re the duck - my son was here yesterday and he nearly split his sides when I told him I'd asked about the duck... the reference to coders was quite apparent to him, of course, given his line of work!
@Bamboo don’t worry, you need not understand all “nerdy jokes”! If I were you, I’d be simply proud to have learned sth new,
@Stephie - oh I dont worry about such things - my field of expertise lies elsewhere, each to his own and all that...
^_^
I currently have that travel itch I get once in a while. Summer vaccations are not planned yet (probably Rügen / Baltic Sea again, with a Layover in Berlin), but I am checking options for an extended weekend on the other side of the Channel. Until then, re-runs of The Great British Bake Off have to tide me over. And I continue the quest for the perfect flapjacks.
10:39
@Stephie - itchy feet! I never get the urge to travel, not in my nature for some reason. By the way, I've got some more bad news - not sure how much longer I'll be on here, am hoping to make 100k votes before I shuffle off if I have to - I've got ovarian cancer, oh deep joy. Had the surgery, refused chemo, what will be will be...
11:03
@Stephie - thinking about it, how come you knew that about the duck thing? Are you a tech person yourself?
@Bamboo yep. I studied Computer Science. After years as software developer (aka programmer) and a family break, I now work as a scrum master for a big automotive supplier. I coach two international teams and do a bit of cross-team / organization-wide stuff as well. So yes, I am used to rubber ducking ;-)
@Bamboo is there anything I can do for you? (Sorry, took me a moment to digest the news.)

1 hour later…
12:34
@Stephie - oh I see, no wonder you knew about the duck. As for the news, yea, believe it or not, I tell everyone but its as hard for them to hear as it was for me 3 months back... as for anything you can do, nothing really, except, can you tell me if cannabis is legal in Germany? I don't think it is....
or actually, what I mean is medical marijuana....?
12:51
@Bamboo I had to look this up because there were some changes in legislation. So:
Growing and selling it is illegal. But if you are caught with small amounts that are clearly for personal use, you might be lucky and not persecuted. (But not if you are a repeat offender.)
With a medical prescription, you could buy cannabis and related products in pharmacies. High demand lead to short supply. Since spring 2017, health insurance will cover the cost. As always when drugs and the law are involved, it can be a bit complicated, but from what I read it’s much simplified now.
In short, no, I can’t bring you a baggie if Hubby & I come to visit England. ;-)
13:17
@Stephie ha ha, no I wasn't thinking about you bringing some, I need the oils anyway, which I've already sourced in the UK with a huge amount of effort and at great expense - galling to think it'd be less than a third of the price somewhere medical marijuana is legal, like some parts of the States and Holland. I just wondered what the situation was there - I'm not averse to a trip to Europe at the same time as picking up supplies later on!
CBD oil is legal even here - its thc that isn't...
Be nice if our government would move into this century instead of lingering in the dark ages in this regard
13:53
I see we are talking about that duck, I found it funny at first and I was wondering why it was there. I clicked it and put no for the mic but it still did what it did. I Love that duck, I think it is a neat thing that they added. My younger sister asked it a question even, and "quack"

@Sue All is well, thanks. I'm glad you had a good time on Easter. :)
@Ljk2000 Yes, I clicked "no" and the duck still said it's listening, so I was thinking of reporting a bug to SE, but I was too lazy to do it. And I was wondering if I was doing something wrong when choosing the answer. :)
19:19
@Alina after doing a quick google I think it was never meant to give a answer. But rather make you think about the question more to help you answer the question yourself, better... if that makes sense.
