Hi! In the video about Artificial Life of @RikedyP, I've seen that he uses something like f⍤1⍤1 99⍨ to do like the outer product (I guess). When is it faster then ∘.f? Cause I've tried
      ]runtime -c "×⍤1⍤0 99⍨⍳ 1e3" "∘.×⍨⍳ 1e3"
and the second one seems faster.

Should it be used when the result isn't a matrix of scalar, but a matrix of higher rank items?

@MasterQuiz In this case it is a matrix where I am comparing the row vectors, so -⍤1⍤1 99⍨⍵ is equivalent to (and faster than) ∘.-⍨↓⍵

or ⍺ ∘.-⍥↓ ⍵ ←→ ⍺-⍤1⍤1 99⊢⍵

since the outer product version must split the matrix into a nested vector of row vectors

if the user doesn't have enough reputation to chat, only moderators can override it

@Connor Give it a name like GoL←{+/,⍵}⌺3 3∊¨3+0,¨⊢ then call GoL state where state is a Boolean matrix. It'll give you the next generation.
