@merrybot Well, I wanted a hooked arrow and that's "Leftwards arrow with hook" from the Arrows block. There's nothing I can do about browsers deciding to render it in a way that clearly wasn't intended.

What does this do, in the dfns ws? dfns.dyalog.com/n_beyond.htm
Post-pub commit?
@xpqz @xpqz sees prose and asks "what does this do?" lol
Tongue firmly planted in cheek.
@xpqz Most people transcend after death but APLers transpose

Oh man. Do you take bookings?

@AviFS does "programming linguaphile" == (programming) linguaphile or (programming language)phile ?

Why can it not mean both?

Hey there, is there a way to write multiline dfns in jupyter notebooks?
Maybe by first running some magical command to enable the experimental multiline input?
19:54
@RGS DYALOG_LINEEDITOR_MODE=1 is that magical command, but i have no clue how that's supposed to be used on windows (assuming that's what you're using; it'd be an environment variable in Linux)
(these things; to mention is i have never touched jupyter)
RGS
RGS
20:09
@dzaima can I change the variable from within the interpreter?
@RGS afaik they can't be changed after dyalog is started
20:53
@RGS afaik you can set lineeditor mode from within the config file
RGS
RGS
@Moonchild I wanted to try and change the variable with some ⎕ or ] or ) cmd because I want to see if I can get jupyter notebooks to accept multi-line dfns; my regular interpreter already has the multi line input going
@RGS oh, I see; dunno, then. I don't use jupyter
ngn
ngn
@RGS does windows still have a "control panel"? you should be able to set environment variables from there
@RGS Did you read the wiki?
@xpqz Gave us information to put on the wiki.

@Adám I clearly didn't; didn't even think of looking for info there
@RGS Any ideas as to what we can do to guide people in that direction?
RGS
RGS
@Adám not sure; maybe a message on notebook start?
@RGS Sounds annoying for experienced users.
RGS
RGS
@Adám with a "don't remind me again" checkbox?
@RGS I'm not sure if the kernel can remember stuff.
@RGS Yeah, that's not a dfn.
RGS
RGS
22:15
@Adám doesn't the kernel read config settings from anywhere?
@RGS I don't think so.
RGS
RGS
In that case yes, it would be really annoying... Maybe I should've just thought better about the best place to fish for help with the kernel
(some weird things seem to happen with multi-line dfns; should I take note or are you aware of the limitations and weird behaviors?)
@RGS Take note, for sure. If we are to put more of or weight on notebooks, they better be solid.

for bug reports, should I email [email protected], or is there a better channel?
@Moonchild support@ is official, but people often just tell me here. If it is about something we host on GitHub, then you can open an issue there too.
@Adám ok, cool
