I got something working:
codegolf.stackexchange.com/questions/190758/church-subtraction/…
. Am still curious if there are any other approaches that can be made to work.

@Adám is there a way for
⎕R
to handle multiline strings?
Or even your QuadR wrapper
dzaima
@J.Sallé
'AB\nCD'⎕R'EF'⍠'Mode' 'D'
J. Sallé
I should've mentioned the multiline string is an input >.>
dzaima
@J.Sallé that does make a multiline input work
J. Sallé
Oh, okay. Let me see if I can port that to QuadRS though
Huh, I'd have thought
this
would work, per
the docs for QuadRS

@J.Sallé regex sucks, instead of
.
you have to use
[^something]
or
(\w\W)
to also match newline
J. Sallé
Nevermind,
got it working now
@dzaima this might be shorter?
I don't think it is though
dzaima
@J.Sallé why 2

?
J. Sallé
@dzaima Too much Java/postgresql I guess
dzaima
some regex engines are awesome and either let
[^]
be used or have a flag that enables newlines to match
.
but i guess not APLs
actually no apl does have that -
arg

J. Sallé
Yeah, I looked through a bunch of PCRE docs but couldn't find anything
@dzaima aaaaaaaah, nice!
I guess I have to cound both arguments in the byte count?
So it'll be 14+2
dzaima
8:30 PM
IIRC args aren't counted in bytecounts anymore but as a part of the language "name" (which is pretty abusive here)
J. Sallé
hm, okay I guess
I ain't complanin'
Adám
8:44 PM
@J.Sallé Well, you have it all sorted now, so just a note that QuadR allows combining args, so you can put
da
in a single arg field.
J. Sallé
@Adám Okay, noted!
