Q: Legibility of handakuten and dakuten in small font sizes

Andrew GrimmI occasionally come across text with a small font size where I can tell that there's either an handakuten ゚ or a dakuten ゙ in a kana character, but I need to zoom in to tell which one it is. Does this problem occur only for non-native speakers, or does it occur for native speakers as well, espec...

I have that problem all the time
Especially with パ vs バ

@AndrewGrimm What?

@Mechanicalsnail Hmm... it's rather literary, but you see it all the time in book reviews in The Economist or New Yorker
I have a hard time imagining hearing it spoken... so it's probably written-only

@jkerian It was a joke.

@Mechanicalsnail if you get a link by clicking on the "12 hours ago" or whatever in a comment, you get a link that has "unsafe" characters that break a link.

@Mechanicalsnail ahh... I assumed you were talking about the "X recalls Y"... which is rather unusual

Is 「草生える」 slang for something?

@snailplane 「思わず笑ったしまった」という意味らしいです。(初めて聞きましたが。。)
「www」 の「w」が、「草」に似て見えるから、らしいです
Internet slang でしょうね。
