Q: Kanji Stroke Endings

user532874I'm just getting started learning my first kanji and finding stroke order for every kanji is easy online. However, what I can't seem to find is an online dictionary or other resource that tells you the stroke ending for each stroke (とめる、はねる、はらう). Does anyone know of such resources?

@NewMetaQuestion There is JavaScript on this page that shows exactly how to write each stroke. At jisho.org enter the kanji, a blank space, then "#kanji". Halfway down the left column, the "[play]" icon is super-imposed over the greyed-out kanji. Press [play] and the kanji is drawn, stroke, by stroke as if for 書道。

Why is there no google hits for シャンピニオンチャンプル? I'm disappointed no Okinawan French cooks fused that one together. (Edit)

豆腐も入れたらチャンプルになるんですかね。豚肉とゴーヤ・茸のクリーム&クリーム炒め

あ、ディスコードは持ってないですーすみません
could arimasen be used in this sentence?

3:25 PM
「持っていません」って言えますけど
「持ってありません」とは言わないですね
「ディスコードはありません」ならいいかも?
「持ってないです・持っていません」のほうがわかりやすいですが

what does nikuman mean?
is it nikumanju?

7:11 PM
No, it's a steamed bun with meat inside, very similar to the chinese 'Bao' sold in chinese places. aka manapua

i see
man is manju

Ah, well, I never thought of it that way but I can see how that would make sense since it's a steamed thing. I never considered it because I always put 'manju' in a desertish category.

oh not mee

I'll defer to native speakers to see if it's considered a manju. That would be cool.

i think its a combo word
manju for the shape
@jlptnone nice to meet you

Nice to meet you too!

thanks

Looks like at first it was 肉詰めまんじゅう:
この人の頭の形に似せて小麦粉の中に肉を詰めたものを饅頭(まんとう)といい、これが日本の饅頭(まんじゅう)の起源となりました。 日本では大正時代に新宿中村屋がはじめて販売し、いつしか『肉まん』と呼ばれるようになりました。 つまり「肉詰めまんじゅう」の省略形が『肉まん』ということになります。

The Hawaiian 'manapua' bao which I always guessed from the literal hawaiian to mean 'power (mana) flower (pua)' also has a 'man' in it, and with Hawaiian pidgin being a portmanteau that mixes in Japanese sometimes, and my new manju->nikuman knowledge, I wondered if it had something to do with manju too. But google says: Its name is a shortening of the Hawaiian mea ʻono puaʻa, meaning "delicious pork thing". All paths lead to man.
