Fedora's v8 package has been replaced with nodejs-libs. If anyone knows how I can use that library to keep offering v8, I'm all ears.
/usr/share/dotnet/sdk/*/Roslyn/bincore/RunCsc no longer matches any files. ._.
That one was easy.

There's a csc.dll in the same directory

Yeah, the shell script literally just runs the dll file.
No clue what to do about V8 though.
Also not sure if Swift 5 should just replace Swift 4...

3:05 PM
@Dennis Apparently there are no incompatibilities with Swift 4, but Swift 3 compatibility mode is dropped.

It's not like I'd be able to build it from source, so that will have to do...
Node.js seems to use V8 internally.
@ASCII-only Is there something you can do with V8 that you cannot do with Node.js?

I tried installing v8 with dnf --releasever=29 and I've never seen that many errors from dnf before in my life

This is on 29 btw.

Ah

Node has a --v8-options flag, so it's probably fine.
Nope, print doesn't work in Node, for starters. sighs

That would require downgrading Node.js, I think.
dnf won't allow me to install v8 alongside nodejs-libs and the later is a dependency of nodejs now.

@Dennis I've been told about a v8-314 package, not sure if it's the same thing?

Well, that's version 3.14. We were at 6.7.17.

4:03 PM
Doesn't even have arrow functions.

4:23 PM
Unpacking the RPM to some directory seems to work for now...

1 hour later…
5:45 PM
@AmokHuginnsson Done.
