@Dennis that explains the problem. I need a pythonic way to get byte length then... hrm
ahhh there we go
those Unicode bytes cause headaches, i have to first Unicode-encode the strings, then do a length check on the bytes... that explains some headaches.
from this though that should fix my code.
@Dennis just saw the starred message about your friend passing away, my condolences.
