12:22 AM
Since TIO has 200 langs, I feel that's a nice milestone and the advertisement should be updated.

I planned to do that today, but I didn't have the time yet.

12:38 AM
Or, someone could make a Dynamic Image.

12:55 AM
That won't work. They only allow images hosted on imgur.

The Bounties ad isn't hosted on Imgur..?
The default ad is sstatic, too.

Those seem to be exceptions. The "question" clearly states that only imgur is allowed.

You could ask on meta.

That requirement has been ingored.
ignored, even.

1:11 AM
Also, could you please pull RProgN?

Done.

Cheers

6 hours later…
7:39 AM
@Dennis : make a checkbox for arguments (and eventually compiler options) to include them in the byte count.

1 hour later…
8:50 AM
@Dennis Can you please pull Brachylog?

@Fatalize Done.

Thanks!
God damn, I almost go tricked by the cache output into thinking it didn't work on TIO

@Fatalize @Dennis it's very easy to make this mistake, but I'm not sure how to improve it

Don't know if you can implement a mechanism which clears out cache outputs everytime you pull a language

yeah we talked about this, as it is now it's non-trivial

9:03 AM
Probably too much work for a mild inconvenience

@briantist Upgrading to the latest version went fine. I managed to install crossgen and it build a couple of native images, but that didn't seem to affect start-up time. I'm not sure I ran it on the proper files though.
6 AM, time to go to bed.

@Dennis Can you please pull Brachylog (once you wake up :p)?

9:30 AM
@Fatalize Unfortunately (for me), I'm still awake. Pulled.

Thanks, but you really should go to sleep :p

@Dennis Actually, stay up. Eventually, you'll have a normal day/night cycle.

9:46 AM
@Adám what's "normal" is debatable

5 hours later…
2:24 PM
Getting to the point where typeahead for languages will be useful

2:36 PM
@Poke What is typeahead?

2:51 PM
@Adám basically just autocomplete.
So there would be a textbox where you type the language you want
and if I type "J" it would give a little dropdown with J, Java, Javascript, Julia, Jelly
etc
then if I continue typing "a" it will only display
Java, Javascript, Japt
I figure it will be useful since the number of supported languages is increasing which makes it more difficult to find the language you want

TIOv2 had that actually.
or at least I thought it did

oh i should check that, i guess
you're correct, @quartata

3:07 PM
I think we shouldnt define TIO with "Nexus" and v2, but "Stable" and "Master" or something
At least I think that would be better

iirc v2 is more or less a rewrite
nexus is maintained v1

3:20 PM
@Dennis eh I figured, even on Windows the effect of pre-generating was (imo) hard to quantify, but worth a shot. FWIW, loading PowerShell console host on Windows suffers from similar startup delays.

4 hours later…
7:30 PM
@briantist The console host DLL is actually one that crossgen refuses to build. If that could help, I'll try again.

@Dennis oh that makes sense then. It's a little out of my experience though; I haven't done much with it. Does it give an error or anything like that?

I'll have to check again. I've already destroyed the droplet I tried it on. I downloaded the built CoreCLR though, so it won't take long.

7:55 PM
@Dennis can you add Batch through wine? I found this article on the subject.

8:29 PM
batch would be interesting

8:42 PM
I can, but I'm not sure how useful it will be. I don't think Wine's cmd is that compatible with the real deal. At least it didn't use to be.

@Dennis If you make sure to call it Batch (Wine) no one will complain about implementation differences, and it's better than nothing.
@Dennis The test on WineHQ's website is from 2011, it wasn't bad then, and it's probably better now.
