@Dennis Thanks!

@De
@Dennis Any way for you guys to add Cardinal to the long list of Languages on TIO?
@MistahFiggins Could you link me to it?
@Dennis Teh specs are here
The*
@MistahFiggins Hm, those are just precompiled binaries for Windows. I'd have to see if I can run them with mono.
06:35
@MistahFiggins No, it doesn't work with mono. I'll ask the repo owner if he can publish his source code.

@Dennis Language request: Clojure (or any of the Lisp family) - preferably Clojure

@Dennis Request for Nim on TIO? :)
13:45
(also urgh my Perl is too new)
14:20
@Dennis thanks for adding J support. Do you think you could also include the addons for J. Most aren't used typically. You can install them all using install'all'
14:31
(should probably say for Nim, try nim c -d:release <file> for compilation - just nim c adds all sorts of checks and runs slower)

3 hours later…
17:08
@Sp3000 Sure. I'll add it asap.
@miles As long as J isn't weird about the install location of the addons, that shouldn't be a problem.

After selecting a language it might be useful to have a link to the documentation for that language... might be a pain to maintain something like that, though
@Poke That's already a thing. Just click the language's name.
18:32
ah, does that only work on nexus?
I was just on tio.run
Ah, yes. I was talking about Nexus. I'll find a way to add it to v2 as well. The information is already in languages.js.
cool :]
Do you have plans on how to handle languages with long names? Currently you add "..." but for some like JavaScript it's not easy to determine which is which without trial and error. This could be solved with flavortext but since you're also focused on mobile ease of use, maybe there's a better way
18:52
@Poke It's handled better on Nexus. My priority is to get Nexus stable so I can retire v1. I'm not focusing on v2 right now.
gotcha

1 hour later…
20:00
@miles Done. It installs the addons in J's folder, so I hope they're accessible. Please notify me if they're not.

@Qwerp-Derp Took the liberty of moving your message here so I don't forget about it. I ran out of time, but I'll add it later. If you want more lispy languages, just say the word.
20:18
If I'm running code that takes a little while to execute it might be nice to have a notification in the tab bar when execution is complete/cancelled
20:42
What does the process for adding languages to TIO look like? How long does it take you? Can you add Haskell?
@Dennis Thanks ^_^
21:31
You should add a way to edit/view input/output as hex.
That would solve so many problems.
So, since you now have a nexus, when will inhibitors be added?
Also, in my opinion, a triangle "play-style" icon would make more sense for a "Run" button than a gear, which typically means "Settings" or "Options".
21:46
@Pavel You ask, I add. I'm busy right now, but I'll enable Haskell asap.
@mbomb007 The run icon of Nexus is already a "play" triangle. What do you mean by inhibitors?
@Dennis thanks
22:19
@Dennis But you say that Nexus is bridging the gap between v1 and v2. That means that v2 still needs its icon to be changed to a play-like icon.
If Nexus is a v1.5 of sorts.
I'm focusing on Nexus right now since it's pretty close to becoming stable (which means I can retire v1). v2 will get proper attention when that's done. Changing the icon should be quick enough though.
22:35
@Dennis Ummm... can you include a syntax highlighting format that we can include custom highlighting schemes to?
I'll have to look into that. Syntax highlighting requires something else than textareas.
