@NeilSlater I agree with you. The idea of agency in AI is crucial, in my view.

RL is also one of my big passions. I am as excited about it now as when I learned about it the first time :)
Unfortunately, right now, I can't dedicate as much time to it as in the past, but in my free time I continue to expand my knowledge of it

Hi @nbro - is this the right place to contact you? I'm a little new to the chat rooms.
@DeepQZero Yes, this is the right place for people of our community to interact less formally :D
I'm wondering about editing users' questions. In the question that we were just commenting on, you mentioned that I should let the user make the edits. Do you recommend that if a question needs to be edited, then I should make a comment directed at the user to clarify/focus/etc. before I attempt to make an edit myself? If there is an obvious edit, is that fine to make myself?
By the way, I just got my PhD! I finally have time to come back to this site and help out.
@DeepQZero If there's an obvious edit, i.e. if there's little ambiguity about what is being asked and you just want to clarify that or write it in a clearer way, yes, you can go ahead and edit the post yourself. If you want, in that case, you can also leave a comment asking the OP to make sure that your edit is fine - this is what I do.
In the case of the post we were just commenting on, I think many things were being asked, and, in that case, we can't just pick one of the questions (maybe the one that we like most) and remove the others. So, yes, as you understood, you should leave a comment on that post asking the OP to fix the post himself (and/or vote to close the most meanwhile, so that it doesn't generate poor answers)
@DeepQZero Congratulations! That's really a big achievement! What did you do your PhD on?
@nbro Thanks! That answers my question perfectly. In the question we were just discussing, I thought answering one of the initial questions would answer them all, but I guess you're right that it's probably better to save everyone's time and ask the user to make edits.
@nbro Thank you! It's nice to put 10 years of college behind me and have a nice diploma to show for it. I completed my PhD in Bayesian optimization. I compared some standard optimization methods to DRL.
@DeepQZero That sounds cool. I did some work on both too, but I didn't finish my phd ahaha, so that's why I think even more that's really a big achievement!!
Well, good luck to you for your future!
Now, I guess you deserve some holidays, but you decide to spend your time with us! :D We need more people like you here, so thank you :)

:) I'll get acquainted with the site again. I was fairly active here two summers ago. I tried to be active again last summer, but I needed to focus on finishing up. I'm hoping I'll have more time here from now on, and I'm planning to help out. RL is too much fun. :)

Yeah, no pressure! Whenever you can, stick around ;)
