@GentlePurpleRain someone posted someone else's personal information once, it would be pretty urgent if that happened again
yeah, happened to me

I thought it was Doorknob
or did it happen to both of you?
02:33
@f'' it could've been both of us - all I know is that someone commented on one of my answers with my full name, city of residence, and various other bits of personal information

@Emrakul "Mod things (TM)" -- I love it :-) I automatically envisioned it with the trade-mark character...
@BeastlyGerbil i haven't seen your self-nomination on the official list yet?
@f'' Are such urgent things only handled by the site mods? I think that there are still super-mods who can be contacted. But overall I agree that having mods around the clock would be a plus - also because it's just more fun to have immediate responses. However, I think that some mod activities are better done 'after a 24hrs cool-off', as too hastily done closures etc. Can fuel flame wars.
@Doorknob You're not going to be a candidate this time? Out of curiosity: why not?
06:48
@BmyGuest No, was never really planning to, but when the graduation announcement came I figured I should wait until elections instaed of stepping down
07:06
@Doorknob Well, thanks for your time served then. I've not always been of your opinion, but I think you did a good moderator's job.
@BmyGuest Thanks :) But yeah, it just seems like the site hasn't turned out the way I envisioned it (which isn't bad; it's just that I don't feel as much a part of the community anymore).

Q: A few words about moderation

MariusBecause the elections have started for a new set of moderators, I think it would be a good idea to have a few words from the current moderators about what moderation means for puzzling SE. Here are a few points that you can cover. average time per day spent on the website strictly for moderat...

Just putting this here, because it might be of interest!
15:26
@BeastlyGerbil What did you do? (Got temporarily suspended?!?)
Can anyone tell me how long a moderator's term is? Do we hold new elections after a certain amount of time? Or are they elected benevolent-moderator-for-life?
user61230
15:52
@GentlePurpleRain You're elected until you choose to resign, so, for life.
@Emrakul And if a moderator resigns, is a new election held?
user61230
To my knowledge, sometimes, if it's been a while since the last election. But more frequently, at least historically, the runner up from the most recent election is pulled in.
user61230
I think that's handled situationally, and it goes to the CMs.
