Underholdning writes "DRM is coming to HTML5. The W3C published a working draft yesterday of the framework that will support the use of DRM-protected media. Ars Technica's Peter Bright reports on it with an article claiming that DRM in HTML5 is a victory for the open web, not a defeat. Bright argues that if HTML5 does not support DRM, then content providers will move their content away from open standards and implement it with native apps — abandoning the web in the process. Quoting: 'Keeping it out of W3C might have been a moral victory, but its practical implications would sit between sli
@AlanMunn I'm slowly looking at it; but the start states that Gutenberg invented Black Letter, which is false: books were already printed way before Gutenberg was born. The problem was that every page had to be carved by hand.
@egreg Yes, that part didn't sound right to me either, but I don't know the actual history.
@PauloCereda you'll probably get stuck in insert mode forever and have to buy a new tablet.
@DavidCarlisle There's actually a catch! iPad has no ESC key, so you need to find out the correct key mapped in vim. :)
@PauloCereda there have been multiple long thread coming up to that:(
21:03
@DavidCarlisle Yep. :(
@PauloCereda Yes I hear it's much esier to install new keyboards on android than ios? I have a nice one on android that had ctrl and esc
Do any of you guys use TeXmacs? I'm writing a report with it, for the first time, and I'm getting increasingly disappointed. Do you know if TeXmacs is alive at all? There were two minor updates this year, but the website and documentation is in awful disrepair and the mailing list seems defunct.
While it looked amazing at first, I'm starting to regret having begun this document with it. There are either small bugs popping up or I simply can't find the solutions to simple problems...
I'm also wondering why it's not a lot more popular ... the existing functionality is pretty amazing. Maybe it's too "GNU" to be usable for a critical mass of people?
@percusse: sir, Alan hasn't seen any of the Star Wars movies. :(
@PauloCereda I'm missing two too.
That's hard to read
@percusse Ballet tutu. :)
Yay, my whole Chick Corea collection now is 650Mb thanks to the .oga format. :)
21:13
Well I don't see how you can get away with the fact that you have actually made 3 movies long spoiler and expect interest in the first three.
@percusse Don't forget Jar-Jar. :)
!!/answer Who is Jar Jar Binks?

@PauloCereda Vorbis?
@Szabolcs Yes. :)
@PauloCereda Does it play well with Apple products? I'll be surprised
By Apple I mean Looney Tunes
@percusse For iTunes, yes, it's added to the library provided that you have the proper codec installed. Now, for devices, no way (that's why I keep a .mp3 version near me). :)

@PauloCereda Psmith, the TeX bot: Paulo is listening to Radioactive, from Imagine Dragons.
@percusse: ^^
For iPad, there are some players that play it. I didn't test it with Songbird.
21:20
I have Matthias IA Eklundh right now.
@percusse ooh! :)
@PauloCereda I'm listening to Haydn's violin concerto; I'm pretty sure it's batter than Imagine Dragons. Had they been Unicorns, it could be different.
@egreg :)
No classical here, sadly. Only on oxford. :)
True Temperament is starting to catch on among big shot guitar players :)
@PauloCereda You can add vorbis files to iTunes? on OS X or Windows?
21:33
@Szabolcs Yes, provided you have the right codec: :) vorbis.com/setup_osx
@PauloCereda and it actually reads the tags correctly?
foobar2000 is a freeware audio player for Windows developed by Peter Pawlowski, a former freelance contractor for Nullsoft. It is known for its highly modular design, breadth of features, and extensive user flexibility in configuration. For example, the user-interface is completely customizable. Its extensive SDK allows third-party developers enough power to completely replace the interface. foobar2000 supports a large number of audio file formats, has many features for organising metadata, files, and folders, and has a converter interface for use with command line encoders. It had to be done :P
@percusse ... which doesn't work on OS X
@Szabolcs Yep :)
OS X is a lost cause thanks to iTunes... So many developers just gave up on trying.
@Szabolcs I didn't try it yet, but I promise to report back. :)

@PauloCereda Psmith, the TeX bot: Paulo is listening to Blue Rondo A La Turk, from Dave Brubeck.
