Lets sau that I design a font in metafont and produce the appropriate files: (.fd .afm, .t3 and vf and maybe more). Can anyone who is not a latex person, ans rather works with proprietary softwares like Adobe's, can do anything with the new type I created? Is my new font meaningful outside tex and latex's world?
@tush you don't normally get afm from metafont. You could make a type3 bitmap font which woud be usable but render poorly, to get a type1 outlne font you'd need to use the tools devloped over the years to get type1 font versions of cm, but basically either trace a high res bitmap or use metapost based tool chains. Even within the tex world a pure metafont based font with pk bitmap glyphs has limited use: it prints fine on paper but most pdf readers will render it poorly.
There once was a devil from hell Who tried to open emacs, but oh well He couldn't make it work So he started to smirk And switched to vim, and that was the end of his spell.
Alternative last line: And switched to vim, his magic dispel. :)
@mickep Oh, yes, defining variables and functions for silly, simple things and plain English always improves TeX code readability. People have silently listened to that AI even before it existed :D
@PauloCereda Chatbot joke about ducks and dodos: Why did the duck and dodo decide to open a time machine? Because they wanted to bring back the dodo bird before it was too late!
