At the moment MikTex is installed in the user's Program Files directory. My colleague told that even if he has a time window given by the IT person for the Program Files folder to install or update packages, the package manager can't successfully make the update because the connection with the tex servers is blocked by the anti malware software (or any other security software installed in their computers)
So I am asking my self whether re-installing tex in a directory with user permissions would solve the problem.
