@dedded as I said, luatex85 will define the command

Quick question: If I want to typeset $ ( ... ( (2^2)^2 ) ... )^2 $, what is the correct dots?
PS. \dotso is placed at the baseline, which looks weird IMHO.

3:32 AM
@JosephWright I will be there.

@Symbol1 It's possible you're looking for \udots og \udotdot, though it's hard to be certain, since I am not really sure about your intended meaning. See texdoc symbols.

6:43 AM
@Symbol1 \dots would be the usual amsmath markup.

yo'
7:30 AM
@Symbol1 I'd go for \dotsm in this case.

@DavidCarlisle I see you've joined the beamer team ;)
@UlrikeFischer LaTeX2020 should all 'just work' now: I'm adjusting a few final things to make testing smooth

@JosephWright I feel some responsibility for that issue:-)
@JosephWright the justification for not fixing it might reduce in the branch you just mentioned but I'm not sure if we can do that

@DavidCarlisle That's an interesting question: for the team list
@DavidCarlisle I'm reminded: there's a PR on the LaTeX2e repo - we should make a decision about it

@JosephWright let me look...
@JosephWright Ah that one, the preceding ones were useful improvements but I think we close that especially now utf-8 handling is embedded and working well inclined not to add a lot of fragile code that just does error checking

@DavidCarlisle Yes, I just thought we shouldn't leave it hanging

@JosephWright I'll comment and close.

9:19 AM
@JosephWright standing in Catania at the car rent waiting for our turn ;-)

@UlrikeFischer :)

9:40 AM
@UlrikeFischer insist on getting one with a steering wheel on the correct side

9:57 AM
@DavidCarlisle in Italy you never know ...

10:33 AM
Quack
@JosephWright ooh the secret plan
@JosephWright yay

11:27 AM
@DavidCarlisle, @UlrikeFischer Petra's back :)
@PauloCereda Sssh

@JosephWright oops sorry

@PauloCereda you can talk about it just don't mention that it's a secret as being secret is its main secret
3

@DavidCarlisle Python-eqsue if every anything were :)

@DavidCarlisle ooh
@DavidCarlisle so it's like a secrety secret

11:34 AM
@DavidCarlisle oh

Meanwhile, I'm seeing what impact the new kernel has on expl3 tests ... one or two places it showed up

@JosephWright newfangled tech this Twitter, isn't it? :)

Clouds over Mount Etna! ^^^

5:00 PM
@JosephWright is that intentional that you added a texmf-tree in the latex2020 branch of latex3?

2 hours later…
7:25 PM
@UlrikeFischer Yes: for the master branch, there are only a few files, but the 2020 branch needs a lot more

7:37 PM
@UlrikeFischer ”Iddu” as it's often called (“It”). No snow yet, I guess.

These new features in metafun are nice! :)

@UlrikeFischer The Arabs called it simply “jabal” (the mountain), so it came to be called “mons gibellus” and then “Mongibello”. ”Aetna” is the Latin name.

8:11 PM
@egreg snow wouldn't be a problem - we are quite used to it; let's hope it isn't hot ;-)

@UlrikeFischer hyperref about to to ctan (I'll save any bug reports for when you get back:-)

8:27 PM
@UlrikeFischer Well, you can find very hot spots up there!
@UlrikeFischer I was once at a restaurant on the mountain, called “La nuova quercia” (The New Oak) which is the paradise of mushrooms. The answer to “why new?” was that the old restaurant “La quercia” was about thirty meters underground.

9:13 PM
@egreg Please look at my WhatsApp message
