@PauloCereda Works great and hopefully does not annoy anybody :)

@PauloCereda hmmm
@UlrikeFischer is there no guidance over which xml schema to use? xxxx<footnote mark="†">zzzz</footnote> would be another possibility

4:23 PM
@DavidCarlisle guidance is a bit sparce. I currently have the following which doesn't look so bad (but the code does ... a mix of kernel patches and koma code), but pac3 complains that the note has no ID - and I have no idea what this means in term of pdf markup.

@MarcelKrüger do you see any problems if we do a third code path here github.com/u-fischer/luaotfload/issues/…?

@UlrikeFischer <FOOTNOTE id="wibble"> ?

@DavidCarlisle well with ID they perhaps mean the optional /ID key of the structelem, but I don't see what use it has apart from being a unique number lurking around...

@PauloCereda he is not pinging, though.

@Skillmon Deeply sorry, old chap, but a command with that name already exists.

@PauloCereda I think this is a bug. Checking for existing commands is case insensitive but commands are case sensitive.

@Skillmon by design. :)

@DavidCarlisle The harfbuzz files are copied directly from texlive source, does it build for you there?

@KhaledHosny it has done previously but I haven't tried for a while. Your repo builds in the linux subsystem but not on cygwin

@LoopSpace WOW! Great! Thanks a lot!

11:55 PM
@DavidCarlisle I guess no one tried to build harfbuzz on cygwin in a while then, opened github.com/harfbuzz/harfbuzz/issues/1274 to track this and possible prevent such build breakages in the future.

@KhaledHosny thanks it seems It's died on _o_binary before, grepping for that in the sources I see

    [util] Use O_BINARY instead of _O_BINARY

    The latter doesn't seem to be available in Cygwin. I'm surprised it
    compiled before...
@KhaledHosny (source/libs/harfbuzz/harfbuzz-src/ChangeLog but it died this time in ICU I think , I'm running it again)
