@PauloCereda That is a very beautiful duck collection.

I don't know whether it's a blessing or a curse that I got disconnected from my local WiFi network (it's been rather flaky lately, among having other problems) and that I come back to find that nobody else has been paying attention to much of anything.

@RandomDSdevel The experts are all zzzzzz.

I suppose I should be glad somebody else figured out what _they were doing, though…
Also, pity, that. Blast those accursed time zones!
(And this relatively ancient computer. It keeps freezing up on me. Such nerve — or, rather, silicon.)
And embedding HTML in Markdown doesn't work here. Swell…
Never mind, I fixed it.
Should I perhaps just log out of chat and check up on my question tomorrow, @WillHunting?

1:06 AM
I think I'll take everybody's silence as a yes. Later, all.

6 hours later…
7:15 AM
@PauloCereda I think you need to write an answer

Does anybody know, if it's possible to turn a "normal" question that has answers into community-wiki?

7:42 AM
@TeXnician I think the moderators can do it

@JosephWright Could you turn my question about the duck pond into community-wiki?
@CarLaTeX Thanks, let's wait for a mod to respond...

@TeXnician You're welcome :)

@JosephWright Thanks.

I challenge you all to write the @dante_ev logo in the sand of Copacabana beach! :) #TUG2018 https://t.co/Yv8znGSvy0
Let's have some fun. :)
@DavidCarlisle: we miss you yesterday

10:48 AM
@PauloCereda as expected.

@samcarter @egreg's solution is wonderful, it works! I have no time now, but I'll edit my answer soon :):):)

Hi, are the tabu packages still maintained? Last release is from 2011...
Is florent still active?

1 hour later…

@PauloCereda We missed him yesterday, but we won't miss him tomorrow.

@yo' oi I saw that

A: Is the tabu package obsolete?

egregIn a thread on comp.text.tex the author of tabu stated that bug fixes to the current version (2.8) of tabu will not be taken under consideration: Well, to be honest, the time of bug reports will come with the next release. See Incompatibility between verbatim and tabu? (Danger of using \...

4:12 PM
@DavidCarlisle Did you saw my colored cow font? tex.stackexchange.com/questions/342703/…

@UlrikeFischer I hadn't but looks good, even a pineapple to keep @CarLaTeX happy.

@DavidCarlisle I know you would see the pineapple ;-). Sadly the duck looks in the wrong direction so I could make a sentence ;-)

Greetings from 🇫🇷

@UlrikeFischer your answer reminded me I haven't build luatex for ages, I'm using luatex 1.04 stock tl2017, I suppose I should build 1.06 and run the latex test suite....
@egreg trying to keep away from me?

@DavidCarlisle It was hard work to get it working. I had three drafts for a question to the context list ready which all got in the bin after a new idea.

4:27 PM
I just tried updating my luatex source:
$ svn update
Updating '.':
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
that's odd never had svn fail like that before:(

@DavidCarlisle I didn't notice it LOL

@CarLaTeX Next time I add a translation ...

yo'
@DavidCarlisle ouch.

4:46 PM
@CarLaTeX I suppose you are so used to having pineapples on everything, it didn't register as anything special.
@yo' partly user error it seems
@yo' was a checkout pointing at the old server but whatever response that gives now I guess svn isn't supposed to crash, but if I point it at the new (top secret) server it updated without problems.

@UlrikeFischer How do you say pineapple in German?
@DavidCarlisle I have nothing against pineapples, only against pineapples on pizza :)

@CarLaTeX Ananas but it's simpler just to ask for a pizza

@DavidCarlisle The same as in Italian! But here pineapple pizzas are banned :P

@CarLaTeX probably they stole the Italian word as the English construct of two words stuck together with no space was too complicated.

@DavidCarlisle Of course, they are not used to joining together words, in Germany :)

yo'
5:09 PM
@DavidCarlisle surprising that Germans decided that sticking two words to each other is not cool :-)

5:25 PM
@DavidCarlisle I'll be crossing Switzerland tomorrow

2 hours later…
7:45 PM
@DavidCarlisle Which they did with potato, even though we took the one word route.

8:35 PM
Is there any way to know who downvotes a question? I've recently had a spate of downvotes to my questions that left me wondering.

8:50 PM
@Joseph No, there is no way to know this (not even mods, I think) but 'serial voting' is often caught automatically by the system and will be reversed if it meets (secret) criteria (for example lots of down- (or up-) votes from the same user to a single user in a short period of time.
@Joseph It certainly looks suspicious, because you ask good questions!
@Joseph @JosephWright (one of our mods) could look into it further I think.

9:12 PM
@AlanMunn, I guess there's no need to look further into it... unless it goes on for a few days ;-)

@Joseph In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter much, but it is annoying when perfectly good questions or answers get downvotes. But if there is a pattern it will likely get fixed.
@ChristianHupfer Today seems especially bad w.r.t. quality of questions. :(

@AlanMunn Today only? ;-)

@ChristianHupfer :) Maybe. It seems worse than usual at the moment.

@AlanMunn Stand firm: I agree with you ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Agreeing again! The next thing you know, the moon will block the sun. It's a sign. :)

9:24 PM
@AlanMunn The sun is blocked over the U.S. for some months already by now, in my impression ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Yes, dark days indeed.

@AlanMunn Sad times, indeed.
@AlanMunn: Regarding the quality of questions: The quality of answers seems to be on a constant high level (in most cases)

@AlanMunn -- a tweet spotted by my husband ... "Dear God, if you want us to impeach Trump, give us a sign. Like blot out the sun… Anytime in the next week. Thanks, America"

@ChristianHupfer That's true. We have very few bad answers in general.
@barbarabeeton :) If only.
