Hello, a small doubt: wouldn't it be useful to have an expandable macro to check if the next token is { or a space? It seems simple, not difficult to program and I think useful, but I'm surprised (may be this is not the exact word) it hasn't been added to eTeX.

I read that we can get the function of "widecheck" by importing the \widecheck command from the mathabx (Is there a way to do an "upside down" \widehat?), but I do not want to do that since I do not want to change the font style. Can we define \widecheck by ourselves?

@Evinda yes but in mathjax you can only use the syntax provided, in general you can't use packages or tex commands to build up symbols as you can in tex
