@tohecz I had to buy a new workstation. I got one from Dell and made sure they would sell me without Windows (they would charge a lot for license). They sold me a great machine with a Linux install. It was Ubuntu. Then I checked the invoice and they charged me for a Ubuntu install. :)

Q: MikTeX error: Invalid control sequence

I've recently installed MikTeX 2.9 for Windows 7, 64. After installation I try to compile an IEEE template downloaded from their website. I get the following error: miktex-pdftex.exe: Invalid control sequence. I've tried many things I've read online but nothing seems to work. Any ideas? Thanks
