When I hover over my name in the status bar, I used to get a count of votes (I voted) earlier. Aaaarg Now it sucks :-(
@HarishKumar No, there's not any more. You can still access it at tex.stackexchange.com/users/profile-link-stats
@egreg Thanks :-) but it is still bad. I have to remember that link. I don't know why they did all these. Some features could have been retained. :-(
No chat button, no meta button. I think I need a break :-(
@HarishKumar Bookmark? I added it. But it will disappear soon, I think.
@HarishKumar chat and blog are available from the StackExchange icon
@egreg hehe, you won't believe but I stopped using Bookmarks. I have thousands of them and gave up :-)
@egreg Oh. I didn't click that so far :-) Yes it is there. Thanks.

Morning! :) I'll upvote a lot of questions today, resulting from yesterday's session. :)
10:46
@JosephWright Can you have a look at tex.stackexchange.com/questions/131401/lucida-opentype-dvips ? Khaled says it's too vague for an answer and the OP doesn't object. I voted for closing as "unclear"

Hi everyone. I discovered a tag synonymy between {history} and {tex-history} but I have no enough reputation to merge it.

I'm trying to find TeXville. :)

@PauloCereda A problem with arara and Zorro. Sorry, Zotero.

Q: (arara) Problem: found character @'@' that cannot start any token

friflajI'm trying to create an arara rule that will download my bibliography from zotero using its embedded server. The URL works, that's not the issue, but arara claims the file has a syntax issue. The rules file has this: !config # Pull bibliography from zotero as part of build # author: Emiliano He...

@egreg :-)
@egreg Oh my. :)
@egreg: The answer is quite simple: according to the official YAML spec, you cannot start a value with @ (this char has another meaning). The solution is to either enclose the value in quotes or add <arara> to the beginning of the line. :)

Hmm I am travelling tonight to Chennai! Bye friends.

@PauloCereda, what is considered standard in a paper/dissertation when referring to a displayed code section? I get that I can use listings, but it's not a figure, table or equation.
16:42
@ForkrulAssail Why not "Listing"?
@StephanLehmke, goes under its own section?
Just asking, this is first time I've used it, usually dumped it in appendix, but need it before talking about a result set now
@ForkrulAssail Why not? \newfloat{Listing}
I also use \newfloat{Example}.
@StephanLehmke, where would it get listed then, under tables? or a new section in TOC called listing or example? Or it just gets assigned a number?
\listof{Example}{Examples}
@StephanLehmke, thank you. I'll look into that.
16:45
It gets its own list. float package.

Everyone having a good day?
I'm worrying about RTL typesetting and driver code :-)
And reading the LaTeX quick reference from DANTE, of course
I wonder if we could sort out one in English?
@JosephWright There recently was a question here about this.
@Johannes_B Ah
@Johannes_B I was thinking more 'we' as in UK-TUG offering hard cash
@JosephWright Hard cash? :-(
We need a LaTeXcoin :)
@Johannes_B UK-TUG has some money we have tried and failed to spend!
18:58
@JosephWright Ah, money to spend, i misread that.
@Johannes_B No promises, of course
@JosephWright How can one fail in spending money?
@Johannes_B Surprisingly easily
@Johannes_B Most TeX projects are limited by people not money
18:59
@JosephWright Sad but true
@Johannes_B CTAN will need cash from August, of course
@JosephWright August?
@Johannes_B Robin Fairbairns retires from Cambridge and the server will need to move
@JosephWright Oh, well, i think he deserves his retirement.
@JosephWright I finally managed to find the question.
http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/147459/latex-referenz-in-english
@Johannes_B Oh yes, but he's not retiring from looking after CTAN (I hope), just from Windows system support
@Johannes_B Yes, found it
@Johannes_B Shouldn't really have been migrated to meta
19:06
@JosephWright take a look at the comment from @tohecz
@Johannes_B which comment? (I just heard the alarm :D )
@Johannes_B Yes
@Johannes_B I'll sort this!
@tohecz take a look at the link a few minutes back. The question on meta about the LaTeX Referenz by Herbert Voß.
I've tidied up
@Johannes_B Looks like the answer is currently 'no'
@JosephWright The viewing count is interesting. 61 times viewed here, and 37 times on meta.
19:15
@Johannes_B Well it's a fair question, just not about the site itself
@Johannes_B I still can't get the link to meta, the Q on main doesn't provide it
@tohecz Well, luckily i left the tab open

Q: LaTeX Referenz in English

azetinaNot too long ago, I think it was at the beginning of November, the LaTeX Referenz by Herbert Voß was released for free, but its in German (am not saying its a bad thing). Are there any plans on translating this into English or can anyone do it? It is a very good quick reference and would love to ...

@JosephWright thanks. It is the same question, so since the meta one is OTed, it was cross-posted, right?
@tohecz Yup
19:20
@JosephWright ok, I made a notice about it there ;)
In these situations, the notice could actually probably be edited in the question at the very beginning, right?
@tohecz Yes
@tohecz I suppose I could migrate then merge, but it seems a bit of a pain
@JosephWright well, in the end the comment should suffice probably :)
19:56
@PauloCereda Do you know that a Brazilian plays for Hellas Verona? He's quite atypical: today he scored his fifth penalty out of five. ;-)
@egreg Oh my, a Brazilian scoring a penalty? Something is definitely wrong. :)
@egreg: I'm watching the last round of our calcio serie A. It's quite shocking: Fluminense (last year's champion) is about to being relegated to serie B.
And for the first time in history, two teams from Rio de Janeiro might go to serie B: Fluminense and Vasco da Gama.
(simultaneously, I mean)
@PauloCereda What about Palmeiras?
@egreg We were the serie B champions, and next year will be very special: we are back to the calcio serie A and celebrate 100 years of history. With a brand new arena (Allianz Park, but tenderly known as Palestra Arena), a new team being formed and possibly friendly match against Italy. :)
20:17
Well, I should go to bed, to have a good sleep. I didn't get much during the last week
@tohecz Well then, good night.
@Johannes_B night
@tohecz: we miss you. <3
@PauloCereda Yeah, I know, but it's really heavy now, with all the French :(
@tohecz Have some rest, buddy. :)
20:21
@PauloCereda I'll get completely spoiled for Xmas, it's only 2 weeks to go :)
Good night all, gotta go as well.
@tohecz :)
@Johannes_B Good night! :)
@PauloCereda :) Bye!
@tohecz Night, Tom! :)
20:50
PDF (the file format) is evil
just trying to read a cross reference table/stream makes even real men crying.
21:22
Anyone following the LuaTeX 'outdated website' thread? Interesting looking at Han The
Thanh's thesis and comparing with the sort of thing we chemists produce :-)
21:34
@PauloCereda, @jubobs I've removed the meta question
21:47
@JosephWright Roger that. :) I thought only mods could remove it, since I wrote an answer. :)
22:35
Are there any other alternatives to \thinspace for this question? I need double quotes around a word that ends in an apostrophe.
@AlanMunn csquotes package is the alternative
@JosephWright Ah, ok. Much better. I was resisting for not very sensible reasons. Thanks.
23:12
Conversation today: Me: Is the coffee in that place any good? My friend: Judging from the font of their sign, I'd say "No.".

@AlanMunn LOL

pray for more rain:-) ^^^
