Hi guys! There's this ad on TeX.SX for some time now: "Upcoming Events: Answer the Unanswered". Which the link points to this chat, I can guess what the event is all about but how does it differ from the usual days? Sorry if it's a silly question :P

@GuilhermeZ.Santos On the first Saturday of a month we devote an evening to check for unanswered questions, doing clean up of not answerable ones. This chat becomes the main place for discussing about the various cases.

@egreg roger that! I'd like to participate but this weekend I'll be traveling, next time! :)

@GuilhermeZ.Santos Everybody can help and is welcome!
@GuilhermeZ.Santos With your current reputation, you can cast closing votes. In case you find a candidate for closure (usually as “unclear”) during the session, you also mention it in the chat. After the session, the moderators will have a list of questions to look upon.

10:39 AM
@egreg nice, I'm always checking the number of answered questions doesn't go much below 9k (as long as I've watched it). I'll see on sunday how many there are ^.^

10:56 AM
@DavidCarlisle Next time I just delete the comma ;-) before showing you my new palindrome ...

11:09 AM
@Kurt Blame @yo' he spends too long editing stuff can't help proofreading (then blames me for some reason I can't imagine:-)

@DavidCarlisle LOL

yo'
@DavidCarlisle what?

@yo' commas in palindromes

yo'
@DavidCarlisle ah well, @Kurt just define that comma is your symbol for the empty word and you're safe
floor a nice tiling with some patterns is like pixel art...

12:11 PM
@yo' LOL

@PauloCereda The desk just before my lecture:

i've seen a number of questions here about bidi and rtl coding. a message to texhax last week requested testing and feedback for the cals package when used with bidi. cals "provides multipage tables with straddling and decorations. The development version natively supports right-to-left environment." if there's someone here who could do this, seems it would be useful. check the texhax list archive at tug.org.

Is there any money to be collected from mistakes in the LaTeX2e documentation?
I haven't received anything from @PauloCereda's credit card requests, so I'm looking for alternative sources of remuneration.
LoL!
@DavidCarlisle: Look at p 305 of source2e.pdf. The definition of \cline should change from \cline[i-j] to \cline{i-j}.

@Werner Frank owes you a beer.

@egreg Ahhh, so Frank is now the treasurer!

@Werner No, he just happens to live in Beerland.

@egreg :)

@Werner % \begin{oldcomments} so we know who to blame (of course it's always possible it was true at the time it was written)

yo'
@egreg ah.
Good night!

Hi!
Is it possible to have some sort of long downwards mapsto?
Been searching around for a while but I feel like it must have been answered somewhere before already

10:16 PM
@egreg awwwwwwwwwww <3

@PauloCereda I'm sorry to say that some of the students didn't even know what Palmeiras is. :(
@PauloCereda I'll repeat with the other class on Wednesday

@egreg Too bad for them. :)
@egreg oooh
@egreg: today I went to SP with the centenary jersey!

@PauloCereda :)

@egreg It's this one. :) Palmeiras once played as Brazil against Uruguay. :)

@PauloCereda Not the only one, I guess.

10:19 PM
@egreg You are right. :)

@PauloCereda In the picture you can see, from right to left: (a) my office key ring, (b) the Linear Algebra book, (c) the iPad, (d) the electronic pen. And the main item in front, of course!
@PauloCereda No more chalk. :-D

@egreg Yay! :) It's the first time I see an iPad being used as a presentation device!
@egreg :)

@PauloCereda I write directly on it and the text appears on the screen. No fixed slide. But I can switch to another app; for instance, when I talked about l'Hôpital I showed this picture of the “Paris gun”
@PauloCereda I could have played the “sledgehammer concerto” in the background.

@egreg you are mean. :)

10:38 PM
@egreg: did I show you what's written on Palmeiras' jersey?
:D

@PauloCereda LOL

@egreg :P

@PauloCereda Is this portugese or italian?

11:01 PM
@UlrikeFischer That's Italian
@UlrikeFischer Blow up, the victory is ours
