2:01 PM
Nope. I provided the authors name, the pen name the author uses and a link to a site the author has maintained for the last ~20 years. I think that is enough — Matthew Stewart 7 mins ago
Umm ok?

@TheLethalCarrot I have a question, the "good" is debatable

Lol
@Edlothiad Haha you've been told boy

Also I'm still stuck on the Roose Bolton eye thing

Theories are it's because he's an Other but E&L don't buy into it and after reading the arguments I don't either

yeah an others say hes a vampire
also if that was the case im sure the "blue" of his eyes would have been focused on

2:07 PM
Yeah the wiki says a whitish colour so that debunk sit too assuming the quotes say white too haha
Another theory being he is a Faceless Man too
There's definitely something to it but of the 3 theories I've seen none of them sound plausible

yeah doubt hes a fm either
the boltons are an old house
maybe he just an albino... but then he'd have red eyes

Yeah there might be nothing to it
I think there's likely something to it but who knows
None of them seem substantial as of yet

I have no idea what y'all are talking about

Pale as morning mist, his eyes concealed more than they told.
All he and Ramsay had in common were their eyes. His eyes are ice
but even so he had never trusted him, with his whispery voice and his pale, pale eyes.
jaime, theon, and jon

2:21 PM
They boil down to:
He's an Other
He's a child of an Other and a human
He's a Faceless Man
He's a Vampire

maybe he's just got cataracts

Lol maybe

Or he's just ice cold B-)

2:22 PM
Lol
Similar idea, different result

annnnddd there you see the age gap

Cold as Ice is a good song
Whereas I don't like Ice Ice Baby
It's just the first one that I thought of

@TheLethalCarrot There's this theory which says that Roose is a skinchanger who occupies the bodies of his spawn. He's the Eternal Lord Bolton

Yup heard of that one too, forgot to add it to my list though

Oh wait the link is essentially same

2:25 PM
@Aegon yeah cause none of his sons, except one, made it out of the cradle.
but then why even the one.

dun dun dun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Skooba Apparently cus he likes his eyes
So he kills people who don't share his eyes
At least as per the link
I am not sold

neither

Btw have any of you watched Hellboy II? The Golden Army?

I'm not sold on any of the theories
Nope only the first one
I may have seen bits of the second one but never the full film

2:27 PM
I have a question about it

Main or here? haha I doubt I'll know but you never know

@Aegon ive seen it but its been a while

Might be a good idea to run it by you guys here
To see if the question is stupid
So the question is, What's the deal with Nuala?
We know whatever injuries she suffers, her brother suffers the same and vice versa
She was okay with their father sentencing her brother to death. IOW she was okay with dying so that Golden army would remain dormant
So why on earth did she run when her brother killed their father? Why not be a hero right there and then and end the whole story?

pob
probably

@Aegon i think that it boils down to "thats the point" it makes a short story

2:30 PM
And then again, why didn't she challenge her brother for the right to command the army? She was royalty, the challenge must be answered. She would defo be defeated by Nuada who would have killed her and therefore himself
But that's a weak objection, challenge can be answered without fatally wounding the opponent as Hellboy did. He just took the crown from Nuada

Yup been too long for me, I'm also pretty sure I've only seen bits of it too
But I think it probably boils down to to make a longer story

@Aegon but that still leaves you with a short story

according to the wikia she ran away to protect the bit a crown she had
so it looks like a legit question
I'd say go for it, @Aegon

@amflare But if she had killed herself, it wouldn't be necessary to protect the third piece

could it only be used by her?

2:33 PM
Nopes, any person of royal blood could unite the three

well there you go

oh also @TheLethalCarrot for unofficial house words you could go with "A peaceful land, a quiet people," for the Boltons

It's only used twice but feel free to add an answer

And done
Really made me feel stupid when I made my sister watch it. She was all "So whatever happens to her, happens to him, right? And vice versa? So why didn't she just kill herself right there?"
I had no answer;[

Because maybe death isn't included

2:46 PM
Well she did kill her brother by killing herself in the end

Right that throws the idea of a rewatch out the window...
Lol poker crisps...
Still cracks me up....

Brave Princess Nuala ran away

lol

3:05 PM
Haha

yawn I'm bored of work.

Watch The Holy Grail then :P

2 hours later…
4:41 PM
Nah

You could have watched it in those 2 hours haha

5:38 PM
lol

2 hours later…
7:39 PM
thought of the day... If Cersei didn't like Robert having whores, why was she fine Joffrey doing, if not encouraging him?

7:52 PM

1 hour later…
8:53 PM
She brainwashed him #endgame

9:23 PM
Not sure if there are enough facts to make a good answer so I ask it first here, and maybe move to the site if the answer are long, but : Are the valyrian steel weapons as rare in Essos than in Westeros ?
I mean, we know lot of valyrian steel blades from westeros, but only few from essos (Caggos Arakh for exemple), but is it only because there is lot of more content about westeros than Essos ?
gosh, @Edlothiad and @TheLethalCarrot just leave when i ask this question

@Kepotx I would thats the answer
I mean after all it originated in Valyria

yup, valyrian freehold was spread around Essos, not Westeros

There may be thousands of Valyrian steel blades remaining in the world, but in Westeros there are only 227 such weapons according to Archmaester Thurgood's Inventories

thanks

anytime!

9:58 PM
Ye there's probably a buttload in Essos, it's just not discussed
But then again they're probably in strange places

i was just playng with the ASOIAF mod of CK2, when i saw that the targaryens kings have lot of artefact, includings some crown like crown of winter, or storm crown

:O @Aegon loves CK2 and always complains that we don't play!

we know that Aegon use defeated lord's sword to make the throne, but is it explicit that he also take defeted lord's crown, or is it just a game invention ?

Game, it's only swords

CK2 is just awesome, and fit perfectly with ASOIAF universe

Well he took all the crowns, but he didn't melt them into the Iron throne

10:16 PM
i know that he didn't melt it, but is it written that he take all te crowns ?

Yep, The World of Ice and Fire
Hold on, I'll grab you quotes

also, didn't Torrhen Knelt without any fight ?
sure, he called the ban, but as he don't fight, is he considered defeated in the same level as others ?
@Edlothiad found in A search of ice and fire : A Clash of Kings - Catelyn I
Her son's crown was fresh from the forge, and it seemed to Catelyn Stark that the weight of it pressed heavy on Robb's head.
The ancient crown of the Kings of Winter had been lost three centuries ago, yielded up to Aegon the Conqueror when Torrhen Stark knelt in submission. What Aegon had done with it no man could say. Lord Hoster's smith had done his work well, and Robb's crown looked much as the other was said to have looked in the tales told of the Stark kings of old; an open circlet of hammered bronze incised w

> The King of the Rock laid his sword and crown at Aegon's feet, bent the knee, and did him homage.
> There upon the south bank of the Trident, he knelt, laid the ancient crown of the Kings of Winter at Aegon's feet, and swore to be his man.
> Then Lady Sharra sent for the three crowns (her own regent's coronet, her son's small crown, and the Falcon Crown of Mountain and Vale that the Arryn kings had worn for a thousand years), and surrendered them to Queen Visenya, along with the swords of her garrison.
@Kepotx Yep.

generally, can the CK2 mod used as semi-canons ?

There's 3 of the 7, Dorne obviously wasn't invaded, Harren was burnt alive, So we're missing Stormlands (probably picked up by Orys Baratheon, no mention is made, however) and the reach.
@Kepotx No.
Their fan made non-canon works.

Q: Why do the Starks see joining the Night's Watch as honorable while no one else does?

errantlinguistApparently, "taking the black" by joining the Night's Watch was generally considered to be a very honorable thing to do despite that, in current times, it's seen as a "last resort" for criminals and disinherited people. However, what strikes me as odd is that it seems that the House Stark general...

isn't based on books and wiki ?

Doesn't matter, they're fan-made and are non-canon.
Fan-fiction is based on books, are they canon?

10:55 PM
Damn this answer is awful =.=

A: Why do the Starks see joining the Night's Watch as honorable while no one else does?

EdlothiadThe North remembers There is a long history to the Night's Watch, and the North remembers. Thanks to the children, the first men of the Night's Watch banded together and were able to fight—and win—the Battle for the Dawn: the last battle that broke the endless winter and sent the Others flee...

Just got a discussion with a friend : is the failed dornish conquest inspired by vietnam war ?
A powerfull nation, that can spread fire beeing defeated by a nation that use guerilla warfare and accept to be bombarded, but continue to fight
and another question about dorne : sure, the targaryen could'nt use dragons in mountains and desert, as the dornishmen avoid ranged battle, but could'nt targaryen burn each major city, and could'nt targaryen use all manpower of the others kingdoms ?
