@patrix I agree, I haven't found anywhere where the contents of the System category is explained, I still think some sort of folder browsing technique is required such as Disk Utility which already identifies files which are either part of the system or managed for you by the system, which the duplicate destination answers sufficiently @bmike?
@bmike Slightly biased when it's an answer to a question by one of the most active people on the site :)

@bmike There's already plenty of other questions asking about system usage and they've all been closed as duplicate of the canonical, what do you see differently about this post? Or should one of those be reopened and an answer given, then the duplicate links edited to point there too (using the edit duplicate questions button to avoid reopen-close actions)?
