Q: macOS Sierra doesn't appear in my Purchased list within the Mac App Store

MonomeethTypically, when users download and/or upgrade to a new version or macOS (previously Mac OS X), via the Mac App Store, that version of the installer appears in the Purchased tab of the App Store app. Below is an example of how this appears (I've added arrows to highlight the macOS installations):...

Q: Why is system using 60 GB of disk space

user1532587I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) with 120GB of disk (iOS 10.12.6) As you can see, System is taking 60GB of disk space, leaving me with just the half for personal use. How can I shrink / optimize that? I tried to post on apple community but the webpage is not very good at all...

I’m thinking we might need a meta discussion on this. The old canonical “how do I figure out what’s eating my disk space” isn’t going to translate well on 10.13 and is already straining on 10.12
The system classification is really at odds with the old way of looking in users now that the system is starting to optimize and offload storage to iCloud, automatically purge cached content on a per app basis, etc...
Basically, just looking at finder allocations is going to break horribly since Apple is now classifying content differently.

@bmike Yes and no. There are two questions here IMHO: "What is summarized into System" and "How do I figure out which parts of this I can reduce". For the second part the original Q&A probably is still valid, but we don't have a breakdown for the grouping Apple is doing since 10.12 AFAIK.
