The user to the following answers has reverted my edits. I edited to remove superfluous content. This and this. There are other answers from this user that are similar. Am I wrong or can this user be notified? I commented to help inform the user, but not sure of its effects

@mpboden Your edits were great. It's the user that doesn't want to understand how things work. Your comments are also fine, they sufficiently explain why the user's post was edited, but please do not engage more with them in the comments, as there is no sign of willingness to understand. You can also custom-flag a user's post for a mod to handle it.

I also flagged one of their comments as unfriendly or unkind.

Btw, @andrew.46, while rightly locking the post, I think that the "This question's answers are a community effort." reason is not quite accurate, as, from my understanding, this is used for CW posts were edits from anyone are encouraged. Is there another, more fitting reason, that could be used? Or perhaps a custom one?
