I have unprotected this question also, again on the basis that the deleted answers are critiquing the only existing answer, as opposed to being spam or "me too" posts
anyone who objects may protect it again or ping me about it^
^ Borderline betwee ne and fp. I guess I'm not totally sure which is better. Anyway, the deletion is probably fine and I'm not advocating undeleting it.
@Natty ne Besides the edit that was done, it could also benefit from expansion. (But it's okay.)
@Zanna I think there are a lot of places that could benefit from being updated about that... but I am not sure that the current situation is as simple as the X server now running on tty1.
For example, I have a Lubuntu 18.04 LTS system (or an Ubuntu system installed from the minimal CD with the lubuntu-desktop task installed on it; I'm not sure which and ordinarily I would not consider this to be a significant difference) on which the X server is on tty7.
It's upgraded from 16.04, and before that from 14.04, but whether or not this is due to that, it's a currently supported Ubuntu system on which the X server runs on tty7 without me ever having done anything to change what tty it uses.
Do we have a question about the change?
Like, an obvious thing to ask about this is what events led up to the change being made. I find it very strange.
After I switch to virtual console using Ctrl+Alt+F6 I could not get back to X session using Ctrl+Alt+F7 - only blinking cursor is shown. Tried chvt - same result. Have to reboot and lost all my opened apps which is very inconvenient. Kubuntu version is 18.04 Bionic.
Could anybody help?
Considering that the target and its answers nowhere contain the sequence of characters lvm nor the sequence of characters vg, and also that they don't seem to be duplicates going by their titles and bodies, I'm gonna say probably not.
