@BeastOfCaerbannog Can you double check that one? It looks like a valid attempt at an answer, but very poorly written. Worth a downvote (and/or edit), but I didn't flag as NAA myself. Am I missing something?

@BeastOfCaerbannog Reply to your deleted comment: "The previous edit(s) were unsuccessful... You can submit another edit". I don't intend to submit another edit, because there are enough edits for me already.

@NotTheDr01ds Yeah, my mistake. I somehow misunderstood the question marks as such and not as globs. I have retracted the flag and I'll try to edit the post. Thanks for catching it!
@karel What comment? I don't remember...

@karel If you are saying that I commented under a post of yours saying "The previous edit(s) were unsuccessful... You can submit another edit", I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure that I didn't make such a comment. The only recent interaction I had one of your posts was this edit. So maybe another user had posted this comment?
@NotTheDr01ds I think that you added the wrong target here. Did you mean this one as you did in the second dupe?
I tried to edit this answer but I'm not using KDE so I can't expand it to make it a better answer. It would be nice if someone familiar with KDE could expand it.
I also commented.

@BeastOfCaerbannog Ouch - I don't know how that happened. Yes, same dupe target as the second one. I'll have to retract. Can you resubmit the close with the correct dupe?
This should be closed as a duplicate of this.

@NotTheDr01ds Ok, added.

@BeastOfCaerbannog Thanks!

@ArturMeinild I did some minor edits to this nice Q&A of yours. Feel free to change anything you don't like.
@NotTheDr01ds No problem! :)

@BeastOfCaerbannog Thanks, it's all cool - just re-added the quote to the man text and fixed the lines. Looks super good now. 👍

Awesome! I still haven't decided if quote formatting should be used for manpages. For most other edit-related things I have come to a pretty solid opinion and formatting style.

I think quote formatting makes sense, since it's a direct quote from the manpage. On the other hand, I'm not strongly opinionated about whether it should be fixed width or not - both are good for me.
But I do think quoting combined with fixed width looks good!
So I can go with that from now on (if I remember each time) 😁

I agree. A counterargument is that code formatting already highlights the text so an additional quote can make the text look more busy than it should.

There is a minor downside though: If you both want fixed width AND bold text, you have to use <pre> like you did.
But then it doesn't automatically break lines - so you have to manually adjust line width.
Right - for me, quoting manpages just looks and feels right, you know? 😉

@ArturMeinild That's code formatting limitation though. I try to avoid <pre> as much as I can, unless there is a need for highlighting, or if the OP wants to have the text closer to the source, as in your case.

@ArturMeinild Cool, whatever suits you the most! :)
