You know, mmv has been on my list of things to remember to add to my regular toolbox for over a decade now. I literally have a "todo" list somewhere with mmv actually listed on it. And I just never need it often enough to have it become a habit.
@BeastOfCaerbannog Yeah, but since I'm a Windows user at the core, I have Directory Opus, and seriously, there's just no file manager that comes close to it for Linux. It includes Regex renaming (and even script-based renaming).
With a visual confirmation as well.
If I was ever going to work on an open-source project for Linux, it would be to start to try to recreate Dopus.
Well, not "work-on" because I've done that, but "put some serious investment into".
@BeastOfCaerbannog True, but it is the most worthwhile piece of software I've ever paid for, I believe. They haven't bumped the core version in years, so it's been a one-time fee.
@NotTheDr01ds That's certainly handy. I like ranger for its previewing capabilities and it's great for previewing images too (that's why I use kitty as my terminal).
