The preceding comment of SmokeDetector is a classic double jeopardy situation. Punkroku posted an angry question because this question which he asked: How can I rename multiple files in Unix, since using mv or rename . doesn't work? was wrongly closed and that act got him blacklisted for violating the CoC. However Punkroku shouldn't be punished twice for something that wasn't his fault to begin with. There's no oversight here.

Almost everyone who asks questions on Ask Ubuntu about renaming files has Ubuntu Server, so they can't use a GUI app to rename files the easy way.
