@ChinmayaB Yes. we are brahmins and Sri Vaishnavas. But these days iyengars means only people with tamil origins. We are of telugu origin . We are Sri Vaishnava from generations at least since my great grandfather times.

2 hours later…
04:32
@SreeCharan I think in telugu Iyers and Iyengars are called Vaidugulu and Niyogulu. Not so sure. My friend is Brahmin too. He told me .
04:48
@SwiftPushkar I was busy in Examination.
@Pandya - GM 🌞Oh ok , by the way ,whts best book for brahma sutras?
@Pandya - GM 🌞Oh ok , by the way ,whts best book for brahma sutras?sanskrit+hindi or english
@SwiftPushkar Namaste
@SwiftPushkar I think Gitapress doesn't have Brahma Sutra with Adi Shankaracharya Bhasya
@SwiftPushkar But Vedanta Dearshan (Book code 65) is very good.
@Pandya - yes , seen that , but 9 Upanishad and VD will be much similar , i want book specifically of BS .Any other version?
05:03
@SwiftPushkar How 9 Upanishad and VD will be much similar?; Actually VD is BS.
@Pandya - oh , ok i thought VD is covering all Upanishadas , well ok😊👍
@SwiftPushkar Btw, old scanned version of VD (BS) by Gitapress is available at Internet Archive.
@Pandya - ok ,thanks , i will download it 👍👍👍
@SwiftPushkar your about:
> I Believe I Believe I Believe
@Pandya - Commentry is in hindi , its more easy to understand 👍👍
05:13
@SwiftPushkar Yes, I always recommend Hindi over English.
@Pandya - haha , like ॐ शांति शांति शांति 😊

Q: Sanskrit non-translatables

BharatEvery language encodes within it a unique culture and a world view. This site being an English site, our questions and answers are in English. But certain words lose meaning when translated to English. For example, Sin is not bad karma or paap Atman is not soul Jati-varna system is not caste ...

@SwiftPushkar Btw, note that:
Jul 9 '16 at 13:19, by Pandya
He has written in निवेदन (announcement) that he has given explanation on the basis/reference of following Sanskrit scriptures: (1) Shri Shankaracharya's Sharirak Bhashya, (2) Shri Ramanujacharya's Shri Bhashya, (3) Shri Vallabhacharya's Anubhashya, (4) Shri Nimbark Bhashya, (5) Shri Bhashjaracharya Bhashya, (6) Brahmananad Deepika, (7) Shri Vijnanbhikhshu Bhashya and Shri Ramanand Vyakhya.
@Pandya - Ok 😊
@SwiftPushkar So, Are the (Gitapress) books we've discussed available in the store near to you?
I've realized Gitapress's Bhagavad Gita translation lean towards Advaita /cc @TheDestroyer @Tezz
@Pandya - I am going today ..in some time ,👍👍📚
05:21
@SwiftPushkar ok
@TheDestroyer Namaskaram
@Pandya who is the translator?
@Pandya Namaskaram
Sigmund Freud was never wrong!
@Pandya -I think even SB , is also primarily a Adavita , at least Gita press , translation
@Cucumber Who was Sigmund Freud? and related to Hinduism?
@Pandya may be this
Sigmund Freud (/ˈfrɔɪd/ FROYD; German: [ˈziːkmʊnt ˈfʁɔʏt]; born Sigismund Schlomo Freud; 6 May 1856 – 23 September 1939) was an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis, a clinical method for treating psychopathology through dialogue between a patient and a psychoanalyst. Freud was born to Galician Jewish parents in the Moravian town of Freiberg, in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He qualified as a doctor of medicine in 1881 at the University of Vienna. Upon completing his habilitation in 1885, he was appointed a docent in neuropathology and became an affiliated professor in 1902. Freud...
ignore!
05:25
@TheDestroyer I don't know exactly but might be Goyandaka
@Cucumber Namaste! Don't compare "Religion" with "Dharma". The so called Indian subcontinents Religions are "Dharmic faiths". "Matam" (Sanskrit word for Religion) is something which comes from "Man" or Mind. But on other hand faiths of Indian subcontinent are expouded by Rsis (seers) or sages in transcendental consiousness. it's absurd to compare Religion with Dharma.
@Pandya Most of the present day Hindus adhere Advaita Vedanta. So, may be it is leaning towards Advaita.
@Tezz Why Surya is called "MaartaNDa"?
m. (fr. मृता*ण्ड) " sprung from a (seemingly) lifeless egg ", a bird RV. Br.
How above definition suits for bird?
"bird in the sky" = Surya
06:08
@Tezz Btw, Isn't "You Yourself know Yourself by Yourself" from BG 10.15 discussed here sounds Advaita?
06:19
@TheDestroyer Is it? I know that we are niyogulu.
@SreeCharan i don't know exact translations.
@Thedestroyer Niyogi is a brahmin who are no longer in priest tradition. Our family occupation was not priesthood but we do daily karmas such as Sandhyavandanam. Vaidukulu means brahmins who continued in priesthood.
@SreeCharan Yes. My friend is Niyogi Brahmin.
@TheDestroyer matham also has other meanings besides religion.
user Cucumber entered a wrong chatroom.
@Pandya Not sure about your history flag, keeping it pending for now, rest of the 7 are handled.
06:34
@Mr.Alien ok. Thanks!
Just want to clarify with you guys, I'll write a message and star it so that others can read whoever visits this room
@Mr.Alien about what will you write?
give me 2 mins
its about flagging
cuz I've seen a lot of users who are not flagging the correct way, declining their flags results in meta rage
I think I'll take this to meta, wait
@Mr.Alien I think you've raised this before which may be related.
@Pandya kinda similar, but not same, the issue is, people flag posts which has no reference, need to close and so on
but they just don't get this simple thing that there is nothing a moderator can do here. They can in a way but that's not what they are for.
If no reference, downvote the post, put a comment which will help users that why there was a downvote
06:40
@Mr.Alien Oh! it may be because of meta.hinduism.stackexchange.com/q/742/277
if question is off-topic, close it, don't flag it.
4
because later, if mod closes it alone, some or the other user will rage on meta saying that the decision was incorrect.
closing questions, referrals etc need peer reviews, also it's something which even a decent reputation user can do. Yes, if the question is not yet closed even after a week? Then flag to a mod, but than, we need to make our users aware that they should be taking those actions instead of flagging it to a mod
@Pandya umm, nop.. there are weird flags all the time.
Also what do you say about using delete vote by high rep. users? @Mr.Alien
@Mr.Alien Btw, you can bookmark the (conversation) messages to share or link in feature.
some say that edit the post, some ask for a close, delete, some say the answer is incorrect. Mods are not supposed to judge whether an answer is incorrect or not. Yea, if the answer is completely incorrect, we will delete it, but if it has minor issues or somewhat wrong, all we need to do is a downvote.
@SreeCharan They should delete it. we have enough of high-rep active users now. When I contribute on StackOverflow, if I comment/delete vote/close vote anything, I do check in a day or two from my activity tab that whether the action was performed or not, if not, than we need to flag to a mod that 2 delete votes are casted, but since we are not getting the third one, we need a mod to step in.
But we should prevent flagging if answers are incorrect. Only flag if they are spam, hate speech, hurting religious sentiments and so on
in general, flag when immediate actions are required which might not be available to normal / high rep users
@SreeCharan Did you watch Karma (2011) movie of Advi Sesh?
06:48
@Pandya pinned the first message
I need one of you guys to star it so that you can search in the rooms star tab
cuz this pinned message gets unpinned in few days
Thank you!
@TheDestroyer Matham as in abhimatham. your opinion, way. But I can't quote any dictionary right now.
@SreeCharan yes. Whatever comes from mind. Need not be correct.
@Mr.Alien ok +1 star
Thank you!

@Mr.Alien why your star looks different to Keshav's "star" message? Both are mods.
@TheDestroyer pinned message vs only starred messages
also, am a special kind of mod :P
@Mr.Alien Alien mod! Haha
@Pandya Not from Bhooloka! Must be from other 6 lokas. :P
@Pandya Mode* x) ... Aliens need special privileges ...
@SreeCharan Even word "Mano Bhava" is misused.
06:56
@TheDestroyer It is pinned. So, looked different.
There's something insanely bad going on with my Chrome, UI messes up if am posting a message, weird.
@Mr.Alien Btw, what do you think about our stats on Area51 and graduation?
@Pandya I also bookmarked this conversation....
@SreeCharan yes. just saw that. Messages can be pinned only mods or by room owners or by SE team.
@Pandya @Mr.Alien Is it possible to exclude some messages which we don't want to include in a bookmark?
@TheDestroyer No.
07:00
@SreeCharan you can tell me and I'll cancel them, share it here
@SreeCharan Good movie. Hero gets powers by doing Puja and it also talks about degrading Varnasrama Dharma. Best movie of Adivi Sesh.

@SreeCharan what meanings?
@Mr.alien ^^^
27 mins ago, by Pandya
ok
those are not bookmarked
Did you see my bookmarked conversation? titled Guidelines for flagging?
@SreeCharan Sorry, but am not getting what you are trying to say.. bookmarked mean star messages.. if you want me to remove those stars, I can do it.. but the messages you are sharing are not starred

@Mr.alien I want you to remove the above messages from that conversation.
@TheDestroyer I don't know...
@Pandya I think it's referring to the Gitacharya (Krishna)... not about ourselves...
@TheDestroyer where did you see the word Martanda.. ?..
@Pandya in those Hindi Archives of Shankara Sutra Bhasya.. part 1 doesn't start with "Athato Brahman Jijnasa".. why? Where are the previous parts.. ?..
@Tezz I know Martanda is used for Surya. In a movie song.
@TheDestroyer Oh.. I found it:
07:24
@Tezz is name of martanda sun temple "coincidence"?
Ruins of martanda temple in Kashmir.
@TheDestroyer it says "and it denotes a dead sun, or a sun that has sunk below the horizon.[1]"
@SreeCharan done
@TheDestroyer that is a beautiful pic
@Tezz Yeah.
@Tezz Monnier williams says
मार्ताण्ड

(H2) मार्ताण्ड [p= 813,2] [L=163563] m. (fr. मृता*ण्ड) " sprung from a (seemingly) lifeless egg ", a bird RV. Br.
[p= 813,2] [L=163564] " bird in the sky ", the sun (= or v.l. for, मार्तण्ड) Rājat.
@Mr.Alien Yes. Even the ruins looks beautiful.
Now.
The Martand Sun Temple was a Kashmiri Hindu temple dedicated to Surya (the chief solar deity in Hinduism) and built during the 8th century CE. Martand is another Sanskrit name for the Hindu Sun-god. Now in ruins, the temple is located five miles from Anantnag in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. == History == The Martand Sun Temple was built by the third ruler of the Karkota Dynasty, Lalitaditya Muktapida, in the 8th century CE. It is said to have been built during 725-756 CE. The foundation of the temple is said to have been around since 370-500 CE, with some attributing the construction...
Why wud someone be afraid of Shiva or of his looks? :D
I mean if there's one male God who's by far the most handsome of all then that is Shiva
I mean he is not ferocious looking like the way say Chamunda,Chinnamasta or NaraSimha are..:P
Is anyone reading my messages? :D

Q: Take selected parts of a conversation and bookmark it in Chat

phwdCurrently the "Bookmark a conversation" feature is great. It provides just what a user needs in a busy chat room; get in, get the important stuff from the bookmarks and get out. Though sometimes, these bookmarked conversations have a lot of extra stuffing in it. Chit Chat. Sometimes 100-300 mess...

@Mr.Alien I have deleted my recent meta post as per ur suggestion..But why was it technically not allowed?
@Rickross Yes. Shiva is the most handsome God.
@Rickross I think this is the first time you are talking here.
Ok may be not sure.@TheDestroyer
@TheDestroyer But Yama(death) and Kama(desire) are both afraid of Shiva
@Rickross which post?
@Rickross Yes. Do you know what scriptures descibe Markandeya, Shiva and Yama Story?
@TheDestroyer My most recent meta post..let me see if i can post a link ...its deleted now by me..no..possibly no purana tells that story..but that does not mean that is not true either
08:05
@Rickross Post about editing history?
@TheDestroyer A person who has a whole lot of Avidya(ignorance,illusion) will be afraid of Shiva..Because he ends all of that..
@TheDestroyer No there is another post..wait..
@Rickross Yes. Markandeya Shiva story is true. It's quiet a famous and many Achryas say this story in Parvachanams. But i'm interested in Sanskrit words of Shiva's boon to Markandeya
@TheDestroyer Haha i have undeleted that post to give u the link..if i gave the link of the deleted post cud u still see that?Anyways after u have finished reading it i'll delete it again..
We discussed about this Shiva Markandeya before in this room.
@Tezz Can you that part of verse as I interpret "you yourself know yourself by yourself" as like Paramatma (as a or with/by being Jivatma) knows Paramata.
08:09
@Rickross ohh.. ok. I read it.
@TheDestroyer Ok so deleting it yet again..Its not nice to ask like that..
Sep 10 '16 at 14:05, by The Destroyer
@KeshavSrinivasan Do you know where Markandeya and Shiva story is mentioned in Puranas?
@Rickross ok. But if you got any doubt you can check meta Stackexchange

Q: Encouraging people to explain downvotes

ChrisFI used to get "upset" (though that is too strong a term) when I got downvoted without comment. If my answer isn't good enough then I'd like to know why. Not only does it improve the answer for the OP but it improves my knowledge too. Where the down-vote has been explained I've found it useful & ...

@TheDestroyer I have chkd with someone who has read all Puranas in Sanskrit..He said to me that the story is possibly not in any puranas..I used possibly coz there mite more than one manuscripts for any purana..But that does not mean that the story is false..Even he said the same..Its a story
@Rickross I feel there's no reason to downvote those posts. But i think downvotes shouldn't be taken seriously. It's more or like people disagree with us.
@Rickross 1 downvote is normal. You should concern about it when you're getting (3 or more) downvotes continuously.
08:15
@TheDestroyer * true Story i meant..also we shd not rely too much on scriptures because how much amount of scriptures are available to us and what huge amount has been lost?
@Rickross Yes. Story is real. There's no doubt about it.
@TheDestroyer So if some stories are very popular but seemingly don't have scriptural proofs then we have to assume that may be they were contained in those parts of scriptures which were lost or changed with time
@Rickross Yes.
@TheDestroyer Yes..Ok Logging off now..and yes deleted that meta post coz even i'm emabarrsed asking that question..:D
@Rickross btw, which philosophy you follow or believe? Ok. I will tell you my opinion about Varnasrama Dharma later.
08:19
@Rickross it may also possible that someone follows your post and downvote which is called serial voting which is automatically removed if detected:

Q: What is serial voting and how does it affect me?

Cody GrayI just noticed that I lost a bunch of points from my reputation score, and I used the "reputation" tab on my user profile page to try and track down the cause. During my investigation, I noticed there was an unusual event of type "reversal". In the normal place of a question title, it says "voti...

@TheDestroyer I'm not much serious about these philosophies..I think too much indulgence in hetuvada & philosophies are gateways to hells..Do u know of any philosophies that is capable of describing even a toe nail of the Almighty?
@TheDestroyer Sadashiva says-They know me by Dvaita-Advaita but actually i'm Para Dvaita-advaita..that is beyond them..

@Rickross @TheDestroyer story which is similar that of Markandeya is of King Sveta...

A: Did lord Shiva time travel?

TezzKãlãnjãra means who is the destroyer of Kãla. ie. Who is Kãla of Kãla (Kãlakãla). There is also a tirtha called Kalanjara where Lord Shiva destroyed Kãla while protecting his devotee Sveta. Kurma Purana Uttara Bhaga chapter 36 tells that story: There is a great Tirtha by the name Kãlanjara wh...

08:42
@Pandya I missed that one... I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon
also, content our site generates is not a good quality one, few people think it's good and then later they complain that mods are cleaning up stuff
08:58
@Tezz There is a mantra/shloka dedicated to Shani. नीलाञ्जन समाभासं रविपुत्रं यमाग्रजम | छाया मार्ताण्ड संभूतहं तं नमामि शनैचरं ||
@Rickross I am not afraid of shiva now.
09:14
@Mr.Alien Our site isn't generating good stuff?
09:30
@SreeCharan nop
atleast as per me
10:21
@Mr.Alien - IMO , that's beacuse the vastness of Hinduism scriptures.One perticular good answer might be anywhere among these scriptures.Finding it and writing answer is also a timeconsuming part. Information and Avaliability of scriptures/books with users is also a case(as was me sometime ago). Even after good answer , it's not sure that the answer will get good votes.And In Hinduism one has to experience and understand thre concepts, so thete are some facts which we can't explain properly.
like Antaratma , parabhraman , jivatma ,supreme creator , etc
@SwiftPushkar Agreed, but we should be supporting right content and not shitty one, like recently I remember, there was a question where a guy was asking for personal recommendation.. makes no sense to me
10:41
@Mr.Alien - Yes ,i agree , but there are user levels also , as one browse this site more , he come to know more more abt.how to write good stuff.Even i got that aftet 5-6 months continues reading.And became able to write atleast some answers after i downloded puranas /books , and collected some basic info. during all my previous misconception's were also cleared out and i got a clear idea abt."What Hinduism really is" so it depends on current level and readings of user also😊
yes, but we need people like Jabahar and Keshav, you are one of the example, Pandya as well, we need more like those
@Mr.Alien - Yes , totally agree with u 😊👍👍👍 I am inspired by answering style of @KeshavSrinivasan , Be happy , sai and all who were present here before me

Q: Interpreting Bhagavad Gita verse 8.16

PandyaI do know that according to Upanishads, All the higher Lokas except Brahma Loka, are subjected to circumgyration/reparation (birth-rebirth).

@Pandya - There is similar verse in SB also (skanda 7 chapter 15 shlokas 52-55) , i was also wondering abt.that.
12:11
Although necessary explanation is provided ...😊
12:27
@Rickross Yes. Philosophies aren't important. Supreme truth is important.
@Mr.Alien what made you to think our site is not generating good content?
13:06
@Rickross It's not like not allowed ... just that no one can do anything there, so asking makes no sense :)
@TheDestroyer Recently someone asked renting vs buying.. literally, how is this anyways related to hinduism? and others were supporting
13:28
@Mr.Alien Hmm.. Vastu Sastras gives rules for both. You could have voted to close it if you felt it as off topic.
14:01
@TheDestroyer than users rage on Meta that mods should be changed :)
so I don't do that anymore
kinda gave up
@Mr.Alien I think the same user said to vote that question as offtopic if any user felt so. Ok. Leave it here. :)
14:20
@TheDestroyer The site quality has improved not just marginally but by leaps and bounds..Just bring in true PunDit here..He will confirm....atleast in the last 1 year there has been drastic change in quality..
@TheDestroyer I mean then people can get 20 upvoTes by answering simply from Wiki..Now users can't get more than even 5 upVotes although they mite be quoting from the 108 upanishads,18 puranas,18 Smritis..and more Scriptures :D..
@Mr.Alien That renting question was a valid question..actually u can't be sure on what is a meritorious Q and what is not unless u see an answer to it from scriptures..
@Rickross This site hardly has 6 to 7 voters.
@Rickross can't.. is renting a xbox allowed in scriptures.. do we have an answer to this?
@Mr.Alien Xbox is different from Housing and Renting. We have an whole Sastra called Vastu Sastra for it. What is there for Xbox?
@TheDestroyer You can't be sure about XBox too..That's y i told one can't be sure till they see the answer..
@TheDestroyer As far as I know, vastu shastra is for homes location, direction and stuff.. not renting and buying
14:28
@Rickross Yes. This is the only site which cites authentic scriptures than other Hindu Dharma sites.
this way, you can actually ask a lot of questions for renting and buying
@TheDestroyer Yes back then there were lot of voters but quality was visibly low..no denying that fact..
@Rickross May be. I think decision of deciding offtopic or not depends on knowledge of user.
And this is the reason decision varies with person to person.
@TheDestroyer Yes..that's what i meant..many people are unsure of whtr a particular post is off or on topic because they have not studied all scriptures and they don't also know which scriptures are likely to provide the answer to it..
@Mr.Alien As far i know, from consulting Vastu experts, both are allowed. If some user answers the same by citing Vastu Sastra, then it answers the question. Or Dharma Sastras may have answer or some rules. We don't know. Definitely bringing modern concepts is offtopic.
@Rickross Yes. Exactly.
14:36
@TheDestroyer I can tell u many questions which many users here will instantly vote to close but the most important of Hindu scriptures have bothered to provide precise answers to them ..So what is Off topic to many users here is a mention worthy topic for the Shastras..So we shdn't just be in hurry to close questions here..give some time to the OP..See whtr u urself can improve upon the questions ..
@SreeCharan Ok..
@TheDestroyer Parameswara created many Shastras just to test us & also to trap us in Pashutwa(bondage)..So don't indulge into too much of philosophies..:D
@Rickross Yes. I don't. Actually, Vedas and Upanishads must be learned under Guru and Sanskrit Knowledge is really helpful.
Do you read them on your own or do you learn them from a Guru?
Most of the people on this site learn them on their own including me.
Ok logging off now..will be back [email protected] Thanks for responding to my earlier question..@TheDestroyer Somethings shd only be learnt from Guru..Somethings can be studied on ur own..
@TheDestroyer I study many things on my own..My Guru gets angry on me for that..:)..I have 2 Gurus..
@Rickross ohh.ok.
@Rickross Yes. Smriti can read on our own but not Shruti.
@TheDestroyer yes i know ..but learning on ur own by self-study is not recommended..You can very easily be misled..True knowledge can't be obtained without Guru's grace..studying a million of Shastras is of no use here..and also in Hinduism practicing what u have learnt is important rather than just studying Texts..
OK Logging off..Bye @Mr.Alien
& @TheDestroyer
15:23
@Rickross cya dude, have a great day ahead!
@TheDestroyer may be

1 hour later…
16:40
@Rickross you quote Dharmabindu and Dharmasindu often in your answer. Do you have a hard copy or a soft copy?
@KrishnShweta Namaskaram.!!!
@SreeCharan Namaskaram :)
@KrishnShweta Did you see? Rickross visited our room. See his comments on us. :D
Yeah... I thought to reply him but I'm using fone now.
After few minutes I'll ON my lappy then I'll reply him.
@SreeCharan what is his real name?
@KrishnShweta Don't know.
I think it's first time his visit to this room.
17:02
@Rickross Every one have their own view points. :D
Btw, I like pikachu. I used to watch all the episodes ^^
@Rickross and I personally think that guys with little long hair look handsome :P but not sure why I'm afraid of Shiva.
@SreeCharan i watched Karma movie today.
@TheDestroyer I thought you watched it earlier because you asked me today.
@SreeCharan I read about it yesterday and watched it today.
How was it? @TheDestroyer
17:08
@SreeCharan Do you watch it? if not, i will spoil suspense.
@SreeCharan Good. But i guessed the suspense.
@SreeCharan though laggy for 10-15
@TheDestroyer Does it have about our religion? What were his views in the movie?
@SreeCharan Yes. Completely about Hinduism.
@TheDestroyer btw, a first post review. You may have it.
@SreeCharan Shall i reveal main point of Story?
@SreeCharan ok. Will review it.
@TheDestroyer Nee ishtam bro.
17:11
@SreeCharan Ok. Hero is Kalki.
@TheDestroyer 0-O ?????
@SreeCharan Yeah.
Kalki Avatar of Vishnu.
@KrishnShweta Movie chustava?
@SreeCharan Hero was supernatural being and Heroine name was Padma and entire movie was taken in America. Hero says he was from Shambala. Appude doubt vachindi naku.
@TheDestroyer Shambala huh. Adi kakunda hero ne kalki ani cheppukuntada?
17:16
@SreeCharan Nijamgane Kalki. Final ga tana "Nandaka" tho Kali army ni champutadu. Vishnuvu laga blue ga maratadu.
@SreeCharan emo try chestha movie baunte. 30 mins per day maybe.
@TheDestroyer how to insert fixed font?
@SreeCharan
@KrishnShweta Opika ku dandam pettali. I think you are not effected by suspense. స్థితప్రజ్ఞత....
Did it raise any objections from Hindus? @TheDestroyer
@SreeCharan why objections? i think no objections. It showed Kalki positively.
17:19
OK.
@SreeCharan Advi Sesh ki manchi peru vachindi.
@SreeCharan fixed font?
@TheDestroyer It is under send and upload buttons and when you insert dvanagari, it changes to fixed font.
@TheDestroyer Are you interested in annamayya keerthanas?
@SreeCharan Yeah. I listen to Annamayya (movie) songs sometimes.
@SreeCharan naaku movies meeda assalu interest undadu.
@TheDestroyer They have not used many masterpieces in the movie because they don't fit the story.
This is one of them.
17:25
@SreeCharan How many keertans did Annamayya write?
@SreeCharan what does Tirunamam signify? Feet of Vishnu?
@TheDestroyer There is also "itu garudani neevekkinanu" after listening and learning it, I changed the profile pic to Garuda and vishnu(one of the reasons). around 32000. now 12000 are only available.
@TheDestroyer Yes. The white part are the feet of vishnu, red the Lakshmi. the line under feet symbolises adishesha.
@SreeCharan how did we lose them?
@SreeCharan but why feet on forehead of Vishnu?
@TheDestroyer You mean why tirunamam is put to the lord?
@SreeCharan yes.
@TheDestroyer I don't know exactly. But that symbolism is for devotees. the white also represents peace. The vertical represents our development.
In temples lord is put namam made of jewels.
17:36
@SreeCharan In Dharma Sandhehalu, it is said Sushma nadi, Pingala nadi and Ida nadi meet at Ajna Chakra. So, Shaivaites put horizontally and Vishnavas put vertically meeting at point (V shaped).
@SreeCharan Did Swayambhu Venkateswara/Srinivasa have any namam just after he turned into idol?
I think Vishnu and Shiva don't have any namams.
@TheDestroyer Many were lost. Few which we are listening now are written on talapatras, stone carvings. The reason they show in the movie might be the reason.
@TheDestroyer No. that was the reason for the confusion on who the deity was. Ramanujacharya gave naamam, shankha, chakra to Venkateshwara which made Him the acharya of Venkateshwara.
@SreeCharan ok.
You wrote an answer too about it.
Ok. Bye! Gn. @SreeCharan @KrishnShweta
@TheDestroyer Yeah. Bye. GN.
@TheDestroyer First post review?
@TheDestroyer Bye!
@SreeCharan was lazy to write comment. So, skipped it. Haha.

@TheDestroyer haha...
@SreeCharan The Venkateshwara statue did have a Shankha and Chakra originally, but then Venkateshwara gave them to his devotee king Thondaiman so Thondaiman could win a battle.
@KeshavSrinivasan Namam?
@KeshavSrinivasan Yes. He gave them to tondaman chakravarti.
@TheDestroyer Well, stone statues don't usually have stone Namams. But I assume Venkateshwara would be wearing an ordinary Namam made from powder when he turned to stone.
@TheDestroyer I think you should also copy paste "Cite the sources" like @Keshav does in case of "The term shaivates is overused these days....", "As I discuss in this answer". :P

@SreeCharan Haha
@SreeCharan haha. i thought to copy Sv's comment giving link to metapost but still needs to link meta post and search for his comment. i am bit lazy now to do that. haha.
Which one how to write good answers?
@SreeCharan yeah. and "About References".
@TheDestroyer It's easy to review when the user is registerd. But the main problem comes with unregistered ones.
@SreeCharan yes.

The destoyer raised a question @KeshavSrinivasan. Why do we put lord's lotus feet on his forehead himself. I said that symbolism is only for devotees. Do you know the exact reason?
I got a doubt about depiction of Krishna. @KrishnShweta @KeshavSrinivasan @Pandya @SwiftPushkar Why is krishna depicted with a peacock feather since his childhood?
@SreeCharan I guess we have one post on it.
@KrishnShweta My doubt is only about chidhood .Because in pictures/images these days, Krishna is depicted with peacock feather even since his childhood. He was brahmachari then and nothing to do with askalitha brahmacharyam.
Hmm OK..
@SreeCharan Leaving now... Good night :)
18:12
@KrishnShweta Good night sleep tight....
@SreeCharan I think its because Shriman Naryana is known as Shikhandi and Krishna is Keshava himself.
@user1952500 The correct word for Nastika is skepitc, one who doubts authority of Bramhan.
