@TheDestroyer Good idea and I usually do follow it but users may face difficulties especially who can't read Devanagari e.g users from other countries may not find Sanskrit verses easily. Screen shot may work. Btw, how do you handle if a user doesn't follow? You may not stop them without Sanskrit Verses. I think You can post meta post for Encouraging to include Sanskrit Verses. I don't think mandatory strategy may work effectively. What do you think?
@TheDestroyer let me clear Are you talking about including versers in Sanskrit or "Iincluding at least one Sanskrit verses (may not be in Sanskrit) in each post" ? I assume first one right?

@TriyugiNarayanMani - GM , just added shloka frm. vaman purana with link into your answer.😊👍
@TheDestroyer yes, I agree with @Pandya mandatory may not work effectively... encouraging may work.. you can give examples of some magical additions in translation like that in the answer of Keshav (Lakshmi choosing her consort).. also in my answer can Sudra become Brahmin in this birth?.. The Sanskrit uses PanchaVimshati Lakshata which means 25 Lakh times but translator translates it as 20 Lakhs... so Sanskrit verses are needed...

Good Morning All :-)
@SwiftPushkar Good Morning!😀😀
@Tezz - yes , hows cold over there :)
Good morning to all. these are the sanskrit verses of SB 8.8.22 with translation in english. There is no mention of crematorium in the word to word translation but it pops out in the translation.
Irony is that this interpolation is the most popular translation available on the internet. The risk of following misleading translations (there are many which are not found on the internet) is high.
@SreeCharan - also see this , there is no mentioning of word Brahmaloka in gita press version , they are just abt. higher lokas , but on vedbase the word brahmaloka is there , but its not in verse .
@SreeCharan - yes , i will give sanskrit verses also with image , and yes that is ISKON translation , but in other versions its not there.

A: When can one take Sannyasa?

SwiftPushkarWhen one can take Sanyasa? The answer is also provided in Shreemad Bhagvat Purana by Lord Shree Krishna himself (Skanda 11 Chapter 18 verse 12) The name of the chapter is" Dharma of Vaanprastha & Sansyasis" Here is the sanskrit shloka-: यदा कर्मविपाकेषु लोकेषु निरयात्मसु।  विरागो जायत...

04:19
@SwiftPushkar haha lol.. now I'm seeing many magical translations.. 😀😀
@SwiftPushkar very cold in the morning.. how about there?..
04:37
@Tezz It's cold here too. I had my sweatshirt on up to 9 am. My feet get cold.
@Tezz - yes , same here , cold in morning , but pleasant throughout the day , I think we are experiencing nice winter season this year , last 2-3 winters were much hot , (climate change) , this year harvest also looks gtr.:)
05:18
@Tezz @SwiftPushkar @TheDestroyer @Pandya Do you know why Kalabhairava has dog as mount? Is there mention in any purana?
@SreeCharan - i dont know exactly the reason but this is just guess -"Kalabhairava is the wandering form of Lord Shiva". so IMO dog as his companion ... , but the meaning of vahana should not always be a taken as carrier but companion also :)
@SwiftPushkar ji Yes a companion or which always accompanies. You may say that.
@SreeCharan - yes you can call me ji with my user NO. also :)
@SreeCharan - Dattatreya also shown surrounded by dogs , but that is diff. story ie. Making every creature as guru ... the story is in Shreemad bhagvatam also
05:40
@SwiftPushkar Four dogs=Four vedas and and a cow =mother earth
@TheDestroyer @Tezz @SreeCharan @KeshavSrinivasan - As there is tradition of worshiping "Dakshinamurty form of Lord shiva " as Adi guru , a similar tradition is also here in Maharashtra of worshiping Lord Dattatreya as Adi Guru.
chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/34303105#34303105 - shree charan yes that is right 4 vedas and cow , but i am talking abt. bhagvatam story :)
@SwiftPushkar I haven't heard of Dakshinamurthy being referred to as Adi Guru. But yeah, Dattatreya is considered the Adi Guru of the Nath Sampradaya.
@KeshavSrinivasan - oh ok , I think someone here told me that (abt. dakshina murty) , as this form is not much known in north . And not only people of Nath Sampradaya but every one ( at least In my state , Maharashtra) worship Dattatreya as Adi Guru. :)
Brahma + Vushnu +Mahesh
06:05
audiobooks, PDF's - related to Shri Dattatreya, archive.org/details/GuruCharitraMarathi - some material is in Hindi and Marathi :)
06:37
@KeshavSrinivasan Devotees of shiva consider Dakshina murthy as guru like we consider Hayagriva.
@KeshavSrinivasan - yes , and one more thing there is one common term here as "Datta Sampradai " which is wide & nath sampradai is subset of that (Datta sampradai)
This is a thing I came to know today. Generally a guru's picture is depicted to sit in Virasan(one leg folded and one leg down). Eg Hayagriva, Dakshina murthy.:

@Tezz Do you know anything about Kala Bhairava's dog?
@SwiftPushkar Yes. Dattatreya is also considered as Guru.

A: Who is the eldest son of Lord Shiva?

RickrossOne of the famous names of Sri Ganapaty is "Skandapurvaja" which literally means "the elder brother of Skanda or Lord Karthikeya".So,Ganapaty is the eldest son . 108 names of Ganapaty, with 82nd in the list being "Skandapurvaja" There is a Ganesha Asta Namavali Stotram found in the Brahma Vaivar...

But now got tempted to post partial answer for your question of Kartikeya.

Q: What is the reason behind Lord Kartikeya holding a rooster flag?

Sree CharanKartikeya (also called Muruga, Skanda, Subrahmanya) is the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati. He is mostly worshiped in the southern part of India. He is also the commander-in-chief of the army of the devatas. He is also the God of war. He is mentioned in various puranas and known for defeating the d...

@KeshavSrinivasan @Tezz Why did Swami Sivananda include Sri Adishankara?
254. Will a Jivanmukta also take birth?

Some Jivanmuktas whose hearts are filled with mercy and Vyavahar Apeksha for Lokasangraha like the Buddhistic Arhats may, out of their own free will, take a birth¾like Sri Sankara, Sri Dattatreya or Jnana Dev. They need not do any Sadhana as they are born Siddhas. At once they appear as spiritual luminaries, do some spiritual preaching, write out some precious philosophical books, set aright some catastrophe, pass off quickly and merge in Brahman (Videha Kaivalvam). They are all Amsa-Avataras with special Isvara Kala (spiritual rays).

@KeshavSrinivasan Also told him: "He can give you a ton of documents which will take a couple of lifetimes to read" .. :)
22:15
@sv. Haha yeah, I have tons of ebooks and physical books on Sri Vaishnavism. And I'm constantly getting more. Like I'm getting Ranga Ramanuja's commentaries on the Upanishads for Christmas.
