@KeshavSrinivasan oh... interesting... I didn't knew that.. so driving away Yakshas might be driving away rakshas...
@KrishnShweta haha.. True..! some habits don't go away..😀😀

2 hours later…
3:49 AM
@Tezz I'm not sure where Giridipa is though.
@Tezz Also, there was an legendary Buddhist prince named Vijaya who is said to have fought Yakshas in Sri Lanka: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Vijaya
@Tezz Maybe I should post a question on this subject on Buddhism.SE.

4:19 AM
@KeshavSrinivasan Think before you offer bounties on your questions. If it remains unanswered, it is a waste of reputation.
@KeshavSrinivasan Your questions about Vaishnavism will be left unanswerd unless you answer them or I or some Sri vaishnava answers them. Some people are developing grudge on our sect. No offense.
They don't even look at your questions and ignore you.

@SreeCharan Haha, I have so much reputation that these bounties don't affect things at all. And I keep gaining more reputation, like I put a bounty for 150 points and then within a few days my reputation goes up by more than 150 points. And anyway beyond about 2000 points reputation doesn't really matter.
@SreeCharan I think the main reason people tend to ignore my questions is the they dismiss them as too long and complicated, not out of hatred against Sri Vaishnavas.

@KeshavSrinivasan- Thanks for Pancaratra Agama Texts link , downloading now , will go through that all 😊👍

@SwiftPushkar You're welcome. By the way, most of the texts in that link are in Sanskrit. Do you know Sanskrit?

@KeshavSrinivasan - Yes , i also feel the same " beyond 2000 points. After that i was also focused on giving acurate & right answer's rather than gaining reputation , i think all the millions of user's experience the same.
@KeshavSrinivasan - Yes , i can understand sanskrit a bit , but not vedic sanskrit , or complicated shlokas & can't interpret them (not at all) 😊
@KeshavSrinivasan - but in this case ,at least i can understand the point by looking at some familiar words etc.though not accurately
@KeshavSrinivasan - philosophy of Pancharatra file is in english , so at least i will get some idea about wht's in P. agams and the core concepts

6:07 AM
@KeshavSrinivasan Oh ok.. post in Buddhism SE.. they might have different name for Vibhisana...

@Tezz - I also read that in pervious yugas omkara ॐ was vedas , & only one varna was there ie.Hansa warna :)

6:29 AM
@Tezz Well, on Buddhism.SE I'm just planning to post a general question on what happened to the Yakshas of Lanka (Yakkhas in Pali).

6:44 AM
@SwiftPushkar Omkara is Veda still also.. (in absolute sense).. Mandukya Upanishad states "Om is all that has been and that shall be." 😀😀btw where did you read that?..
@KeshavSrinivasan Oh ok.. inform me when you ask...

@Tezz - ok , i know , Naadbrahma , shabdabrahma concept , नाद्ब्रह्म ,शब्दब्रह्म , its in bhavat purana , i will give you chapter & skandh name :)

@SwiftPushkar

@Tezz - पूर्वस्यादौ परार्धस्य ब्राह्मो नाम महानभुत ।
कल्पो यत्राभवतब्रह्मा शब्दब्रह्मेति यं विदुः॥34॥

(3 rd skanda chapter 11 verse 34) & lot's of verses talk abt those concepts & om veda. will give some later.

7:29 AM
@SwiftPushkar Ok Thank you.. I'll read them..

@Tezz - 😊
in Discussion on question by Keshav Srinivasan: What scriptures describe the origin of Arjuna's monkey flag?, Jun 8 at 14:11, by The Destroyer
@Surya haha your auto-correct knows where the real inappropriate things happen. :P
@TheDestroyer ^^ - 😂😂😂😂

@SwiftPushkar 😁

8:10 AM
@sv. ^^^^

@Tezz Actually @sv. 's comment is funny and at the same time good.
In Swami Prabavananda's Spiritual heritage of India book, he says Supreme Brahman creates Universe by referring Vedas. Is something mentioned like this in Vedas?

2 hours later…
10:26 AM
Shankaracharya.org looks updated with better design! /cc @TheDestroyer @Tezz

1 hour later…
11:51 AM
@TheDestroyer I think he meant to say Vedas are the eternal laws of Universe... It's like law of Gravitation ...etc...

@Tezz Does Vedas say this? He even gives a vedic verse supporting it.
in text format

@Pandya yes, now looks good..( and informative also)
@TheDestroyer where is it?.. can you copy paste here...?..

@Tezz @Pandya But that site doesn't have Sanskrit verses.

@TheDestroyer yes it should have been with Sanskrit verses...
Then only we fully enjoy the reading...

@Tezz Yo vedebhyah akhilam jagat
nirmame — God created the whole universe out of the knowledge of
the Vedas. That is to say, Vedic knowledge existed even before the
creation of mankind.
Not sure where it is mentioned

11:58 AM
@TheDestroyer I don't know where that verse is... maybe @KeshavSrinivasan knows it...

Here is the full Paragraph in that book.
Even more than the other scriptures of the world, the Vedas make
a special claim to be divine in their origin. The Bible, the Koran, and
other revelations of the word of God owe their authority to delivery
of the sacred message through an angel, or prophet, or other special
messenger from God to certain chosen persons. And these revelations
must be accepted on faith. No question is raised as to whether any
human being today can verify these revelations in his own experience.
The Vedas, on the other hand, are said to be apauruseya, which
@KeshavSrinivasan @Tezz @Pandya @SwiftPushkar @SreeCharan we should discuss this question.

Q: How much of Ayurveda is accepted here?

Ankit SharmaAs of now, we don't have Ayurveda.SE yet. And many times, its proposal failed. But now Hinduism is live and the Vedas are part of it. Now my concern is whether Ayurveda is completely acceptable or just partially acceptable? To what extent are questions about Ayurveda on topic?

@TheDestroyer oh.. that may be Puranic or Mahabhartic or Ramayanic quote also..😀😀

@Tezz could be

@TheDestroyer I think we can't answer this much...

Q: Does ayurveda has medicine for CANCER?

sakthi Many advertisements claim that they have ayurvedic treatments for complete cure of cancer but people say it is not real.QUESTION : Does ayurveda or siddha has this medicine ? Can any of you please give me a link to download original ayurveda and siddha complete medicinal notes

12:08 PM
Fully ayurvedic question will surely be off topic...

Yeah. even i feel the same.

I think cancer is called Arbuda in AyurVeda...

@Tezz Ohh.. i don't know much about Ayurveda. i downloaded books but didn't read😁😂

@TheDestroyer I think basic questions about ayurveda should be allowed...
Like relation of Vaata Pitta Kapha with pancha mahaabhoot...

@Tezz Yeah. Mainly Ayurveda connection with Hindu gods such as Dhanvantari and panchabhootas..
@Tezz Yes.

12:14 PM
Various nadis like swan naadi, padma naadi, leech naadi etc..

Write your opinions as Meta answer. @Tezz

@TheDestroyer I think it is already told in that answer "If the question is entirely based on Ayurveda and has nothing to do with other Hindu facts/mythology/system etc. then, it should be either closed, or migrated to Biology.SE."

migrating to Biology.SE is utter waste.

Haha...
yes, they will just make fun of it..

2 hours later…
2:00 PM
Even Health.SE doesn't recognise ayurveda. This question is off-topic. Personal advice

6:10 PM
@KrishnShweta Fine. what about you?

@TheDestroyer Good.

@TheDestroyer Hai!
@TheDestroyer Could you tell me in which Mahayuga the avatara of Dattatreya occured? How long did Dattatreya lived on the earth?

@SreeCharan I don't know exact Mahayuga but i think Dattatreya story happened at beginning of this manvantara.
@SreeCharan I think he lives till this Manavantara. not sure. @KeshavSrinivasan might know

Q: What are the major texts of Shaivites?

user3547Among the major texts of Hinduism, Gita is one of the most accepted texts. It is sung by the Lord Krishna, and in it He says surrender unto Him. Do worshippers of Shiva read the Gita as much as Vaishnavas? What are their most important texts?

This question can be answered by you.

@SreeCharan haha..I'm Advaitin not Shaivaite. But i think i can answer it.

6:17 PM
I am digging up old unanswered questions to increase % of answered questions.
@TheDestroyer I know that. Bot you are a devotee of shiva. SO You can answer that.

@SreeCharan Good effort. I actually saved 40 links of unanswered questions to write answers.
@SreeCharan Some questions can be answered by citing Dharma Sandhehalu videos.

@TheDestroyer @TheDestroyer Great.

@SreeCharan The Matsya Purana says that Dattatreya was born in the first Treta Yuga of the Vaivasvata Manvantara: books.google.com/…

:34190604 Yeah. Another 3 to century.

yeah :)

6:23 PM
@TheDestroyer Yes. But Bhakthi tv doesn't upload videos to youtube or its own website.

@KeshavSrinivasan Yeah. i think Durvasa cursed Shiva before Shiva's marriage with Parvati.

@KeshavSrinivasan Is it 24th treta yuga? During the time of Rama?

@SreeCharan But the Skanda Purana says that Dattatreya was born in the 10th Treta Yuga of the Vaivasvata Manvantara: indianscriptures.com/Content/Articles/PDFs/27478/…
@SreeCharan Yeah, Rama was born in the 24th Treta Yuga.

@KeshavSrinivasan Was Dattatreya alive at the time of Rama and Hanuman. Especially Hanuman.

@KeshavSrinivasan Matysa purana might be talking about different Kalpa. We apply Kalpa Bheda when there are differences. 😁😁

6:28 PM
@SreeCharan I'm not sure about that. One data point is that there's a work called the Tripura Rahasya which is supposed to be a dialogue between Dattatreya and Parashurama. Parashurama was born in the 19th Mahayuga of the Vaivasvata Manvantara.

@SreeCharan Why are you interested in Dattatreya? (just asking)

@SreeCharan But it's unclear if the Tripura Rahasya is authentic.

Q: Did Hanuman ever meet Lord Dattatreya?

Parth TrivediDid Hanuman ever meet Lord Dattatreya? Any incident involving both?

@TheDestroyer This question

@SreeCharan Ok.

@KeshavSrinivasan I've seen that in some movies.

6:33 PM
@SreeCharan Oh, what movies?

@KeshavSrinivasan A 1985 telugu movie called "Datta Darshanam"
@KeshavSrinivasan It is intersting that we both belong to the same branch of veda

@SreeCharan Oh, you also belong to Apastamba Sutra? Yeah, that's extremely common in South India.

@TheDestroyer @KeshavSrinivasan Do you know why people are realting Dattatreya to Saibaba temples these days?
*relating

@SreeCharan Well, there was a Advaitin guy who lived in the Middle Ages named Narasimha Saraswati whom people considered an incarnation of Dattatreya. Shirdi Sai Baba was considered by his followers to be a rebirth of Narasimha Saraswati.
@SreeCharan I think the reason for that is that Shirdi Sai Baba made some statements claiming to be Dattatreya.

6:51 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan What do you think about it?

@SreeCharan I don't believe in Narasimha Saraswati, Shirdi Sai Baba, Sathya Sai Baba, etc.

@TheDestroyer do you believe in sai baba?
@KeshavSrinivasan btw, even I don't. ( but I respect him that's it)

7:08 PM
@KeshavSrinivasan You said about "rigor mortis" which happens to the dead bodies. But after some time, the muscles of the body gets loosen up. Why didn't it happen like that in the case of Ramanujacharya? chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/34164512#34164512

7:40 PM
@SreeCharan Oh, I didn't know that muscles loosen up after some time. In that case it might be a case of Ramanujacharya's body staying in Padmasana by magic.
