Hi all, I cannot sit on my left leg during salah, because it is very not comfortable and it hurts (I guess my born structure is different), what can I do?

i'd much rather concentrate on my prayer than on my feet.

@mezhang i just kneel with my heels under my butt. that's just how i naturally kneel.

you should be focussed on the prayer; if it hurts to pray, the pain will distract you. sit however you can sit without pain.

(also without bothering people praying in congregation with you)

@DavidWallace yes, but there are also many Christian lunatics for example, but people dont seem to judge the whole religion based on some extremists.

I guess it's different from a Muslim fast because it's 25 hours rather than just during daylight

But I'd rather fast for 25 hours once rather than 16 hours every day for a month

It's 14 hours here near the equator :P

but it's not that bad once you get used to it... eat a lot of proteins in the morning, drink a lot of water

though I suppose it's a lot easier for those of us whose jobs don't require sweating

it's a lot easier to do a job that requires sweating when you're half asleep. really feel the lack of caffeine when i'm sitting at a desk for eight hours a day.

also, fasting is closer to 19 hours up here. that's also fun.

i know of hadith wherein it's discouraged, but i don't recall ever hearing it's haram (at least, not so long as both parties are aware of it)

@goldPseudo I was taught in religion class that it's perfectly acceptable, and about the money aspect, there is a hadith or a verse in the quran that says that one shouldn't take money in consideration when thinking of having a child because Allah will be sufficient aid

even teachers aren't necessarily experts in what they're teaching. they're experts at teaching, there's a difference. :)
