Sorry about the staggered red herring on the The Lists of Adrian Puzzlinger.
Thanks for being okay with using tag, K_K and q_a, but maybe the world is ready for a new tag along your idea, q_a'. Didn't find it.
(The Lists of Adrian Puzzlinger = puzzling.stackexchange.com/questions/32120/…)
now that it's aligned, maybe its an alphametic
hiya, WS, won't comment except to say that you're the one who's most likely to get this, based on a recent mini-conversation. the puzzle came from a combination of what q_a and you said at different times
you dont know me!
im pretty bad with numbers lol so i'll probably chime in when other people get closer to the answer
actually, have another question for you, about CSS
21:10
saw a note where you suggested a CSS change to the site
did you get that from inspecting HTML or do you know how these sites are configured?
that's what i have to go on too so far
they come from a file all.css
so the ones i listed are most likely global across all the stacks
unless theyre compiled dynamically
through something like less
thought i've seen some variation between sites in the format of enumerated lists,
but will take a look at all.css if i can get to it. thanks!

judging from the url, it seems like its specific to each stack
21:14
good one, didn't know vvvv about css-beautify
you can use that to de-minify it
works like a charm! (just tried it)
another Q for you,
still hot on The Unfinished Puzzle Section?
you've been making the most progress on it lately
Solved it?! No kidding, congratulations!

A: The Unfinished Puzzle Section

Wesley SituHere's some closure for why that one specific Sudoku board state is the correct one. First, let's solve those Addendum clues.

just the last stretch of it. most of the work on the puzzle was done by others in the community wiki haha
21:20
Weren't you the one who had the "PaIrWiSe ReAd PrOvIdEs OrIeNtAtIoNs" breakthrough?
which part of that
getting the phrase or breaking it up into pairs
Both the phrase and seeing that it is interlaced between 1 across and 2 down
(i know f'' got part of the whole story too)
Now i want to go admire what you got, and what Jonathan put into it
i started the idea that the addendum clues were phrases. dan russell filled in the blanks by breaking up the ?????greek letters??? and solving those constraints. i think f'' mentioned the coordinate thing. i then tied everyones ideas together
using my interpretation of the bijection
but yea, it was a good puzzle
no idea how people can come up with these lol
Really! (and thanks for clarifying the whos and whats)
The puzzle is something like 4 or 5 puzzles daisychained, but JonathanAllan got to solve ten times that many in assembling it
yea he even had to make the sudoku really specific
21:28
thanks again for the CSS clues, too, glad i caught you, more after i admire your solution
OK so - we need to find a new tactic for the reverse-puzzle
(just catching up y'all)
could just be a "What's the next number in the sequence" puzzle
is what i was referring to about the formula thing
you take differences until the differences are all the same
(thank you for train-ing safely, q_a)
Wow, WS! nice way to follow the trail of clues on The Unfinished Puzzle Section
but the rows dont quite match the method of that
@WesleySitu are you talking about the reverse puzzle?
21:33
yep
ok - I will say, if it does have to do with that, I am sure I won't be able to flesh it out
WS, .... though i don't yet understand the part "which is equal to clues" (so i glossed over that part)
oh, clues is = UNMATCHED
remainder = ENSUING LOGIC
so take clues literally
its "unmatched"
so the bijection as a result of the function f, is unmatched
that part i got, finally a use for EnsuingLogic
i feel dense for even asking about "which is equal to clues" because everything else makes sense
... think i get it now, was just reading the sentence wrong
another case of a misinterpreted missing comma, which wasn't missing to begin with
Just for fun, here's a wild goose chase the "pairwise reads" lead took me on:
       W o N P r a i s e p r o v i d e s

   a | a | | |
 ! V | | | v |
   o o | | o | |
       ------|-------|------ ------|-------|------
   i | | i | i |
 ! D | | | d |
   r | r | r | |
       ------|-------|------ ------|-------|------
   e | | e | | e
   s | | s | | s
Gotta love coincidences, even when 8 doesn't equal 9
... actually, WS, would you mind if others were to get compulsive and integrate all the other answers for The Unfinished Puzzle Section into yours?
nope
you can move my stuf into the CW if you'd like
that seems easier
21:47
i'd rather move it into yours, in an integrated way, and leave the CW as a case study
go for it
great! won't be instantaneous though
also on a side note, do you have anything on KK's puzzle?
with the gems of four and those of six
(i don't, but am following with interest, though about half a day behind)
[gone to check some things out]

@humn if astralfenix's answer is right... that conversation i was in was so long ago lol
ha!
I remember that
but yeah, I wouldn't have gotten that one, I don't know what kakuro is
its the cross sums puzzle where rows/columns have unique digits and add up to the number shown on the edge
yep, i didn't know what "kakuro" was until you said the magic word, WS
maybe we'll get more spot the puzzle puzzles, which is what you mentioned q_a
ah, a 'sudoku crossword'
(that's what I'm calling it, I haven't read that anywhere or anything)
^^^^ very much so
now i'm holding off on check-ing the answer so it gets some ^votes before being ignored
aloha JA, still must say i was thrown off by the first sentence of The Unfinished Puzzle Section:
"Simply complete the sudoku and crossword,"
where was the simple part?
(we'll never know)
22:55
@humn it wasn't simple?
I will, if need be, post an answer on Monday.
Astralfenix, f'', and Dan Russell deserve recognition too!
It was quite simple
I was just holding on posting the answer for suspense
23:12
yea, i gave into my greed and stopped the suspense from growing because the bounty was running out
