Q: Which weak topology is this?

Tien Kha PhamI read this definition in a book about variational inequalities of Kinderlehrer and Stampacchia. The concept of weak continuity is mentioned in the definition, but I don't think it is related to the usual weak topology defined here. Thank you very much for any hints.

I am not exactly sure which tags to add to Which weak topology is this? - but maybe we can leave this to the OP.
I have tried to retype the text from your picture. (So if you're satisfied with the result, you can remove the picture.) BTW adding one of already existing tags would probably better than only creating new tags.(Since new tags have no followers. One of the followers of tag you use might notice the question.) I think that some of the tags (functional-analysis), (calculus-of-variations), (terminology) might be suitable here. — Martin Sleziak 1 min ago

Q: Sanity check on example 6.5 from "Counterexamples in probability and real analysis" by Wise and Hall

user7408846Citing " Example 6.5. There exists a real-valued function defined on the plane that is discontinuous and yet such that both partial derivatives exist and are continuous. Proof It is well know that if $f:\mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}$ is differentiable, then $f$ is continuous. What if $g:\mathbb{R}^...

If someone had read this book and has his own opinion about it which he would like to share, I would like to hear it; this is the closest tag I found. — user7408846 17 mins ago

A: Tag management 2017

Martin SleziakIt seems that perfect-squares and square-numbers are about the same thing, so creating a synonym perfect-squares $\to$ square-numbers seems reasonable to me. In fact, there already is tag synonym suggestion (by barto). There was a bit related discussion in this answer. (See revision history - ma...
