@JoonasIlmavirta The "O.V.F." is not a discrete entity: it's mixed-up with a load of other stuff i.e. the candidate [accusative] the office sought [accusative eg. "aedilem"] oro vos faciatis dignus rei publicae. "I beg you to make...", why is "to make" not an infinitive? The present subjunctive, "faciatis", gives: "I beg you that you may make...".
