Then after work the factories generate residents, which go to homes. The homes that receive residents get money.
At some time during the day, the homes will generate shoppers. These shoppers will find businesses, which gives businesses shoppers.
Businesses will generate residents who have shopped, which go to homes and increase happiness.

it does not explain the reservoir of money the sims have though, that info has to be in there some where but you can get sims into town then they will spend through their money if they have no way to get more and eventually become homeless or leave (depending on wealth level)

I usually play on servers that download large graphics and sound files. I would like to keep these files permanently in the cache (or in some other place where they can be used). By default, the game clears them after 30 days (I'm not sure if that is absolute or only after 30 days of inactivity.)...

They also do inter-library loans from other library systems.

If you go and put all your residential in one area, all your commercial in one area and all of your industrial in another area, there will obviously be huge traffic/congestion issues. This is what happens in the modern "suburbia".

@SimonL It depends on how you zone it. Commercial and residential can be mixed, but they benefit from different desirability factors. Industrial zones have to be far from residential, since they produce pollution which only a thick green belt can stop
