@MBraedley If you need software to record, try Open Broadcaster software I haven't used it, but it is vouched for.

@MBraedley I'm testing this out, it looks decent. It's technially for livestreaming, but has an output to file mode too.

I've tried a few recording programs. If you don't want to buy anything and are okay with the 30 seconds limit, get FRAPS. If you don't want to buy anything and aren't put up with Taksi. If you're willing to pay get Dxtory.

(Open Broadcaster was a thorough disappointment.)

How do I get the Steam Mobile app?

It records like crap.

(I only tried it with Shatter)

The only positive part about OBS is that it doesn't slow down the game in the slightest. You pay this very much in the recorded video framerate however.

The free version of Dxtory doesn't have a length limit, it just writes "UNREGISTERED" all over your recording in very large type.

I cannot seem to find a release date for the second published Myst comic book by Dark Horse Comics. Myst #0: Passages Dark Horse says that #1 was released on "September 03, 1997", and #0 was published later. But as for even a general idea of how later, I have no idea.

Their special is a sandwich called, "The Wicked".

@RonanForman Generally, it's easy to get a picture of the screen once. It's the continuous, 60 frames per second / compressing shenanigans that make it interesting.

@RonanForman Nah, just seeing what they do (reading video buffers) and knowing that is tricksy :)

@MBraedley XSplit can do local recording, not sure about FF but I'd assume the same.

@James You can do basic live streaming comfortably enough with the Adobe Media Encoder thingadongdong

@James Game footage. Desktop stuff is easy with CamStudio

or maybe try Open Broadcasting System - it's probably better at, yknow, broadcasting than recording.

@MBraedley CamStudio is responsible for so many terrible videos on Youtube, it's real sad.

@MBraedley Ah, I always suggest just using FRAPs but you need an encoder.. if you are not doing video editing though Windows Live Movie Maker works just fine

Yeah, you'll need an encoder no matter what you use

Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder worked for me when I was trying to livestream.

@badp I want to do both actually, Record an episode but also stream it live to those whom are interested :)

I had to make the quality shitty because of my connection, but...

I pirated the full version of Blueberry Flashback a while ago. It was great if you knew how to set it up. Looks like there's a free one now too.

@MBr Higher is better, but uses more RAM. Turn the quality up to at least 5000, I don't know about the buffer though.
