Clicking the exclamation mark button makes it light up in red, but other than that I'm not sure what's happening. The tutorial notably didn't mention this feature at all.
I seriously want to know if the asylium demon noticing you on the edge and jumping to destroy it if you take too much time to plunge down was something added in the remake or was a thing in the original Dark Soul too and it just took Gura being completely clueless to find out.
