- you are basically "modding" the game by applying an expedition data file after the intended date. Note how the expedition periods have been extended in the JSON file. Technically, you are "cheating" - obviously that does only matter if you care about "cheating" on a idiotic FOMO gimmik that shouldn't be there in the first place
- You still have to play the expedition. If you want the lore... fine. If you just wanted the rewards.... on PC you are probably better to just use a save editor because most expedition are simply not-fun. I want to play the game, not grind the same stuff for the 100th time.
- this trash exist. Some (albeit optional) step are tied to community online progress. You will have to skip those.
- still does not solve the main issue: you have to use a separate save slot (old expeditions can't be started at the Anomaly terminal) and thus all the quest related one-of-a-kind items are tied to that save. As now, there is no way to transfer the 5 worm folio or the Writhing Manuscript to yor main save
For completion sake I will say that You can get Worm Folio #1 ONLY from the worms spawn on infested planets, but everything else is still tied to the expedition. Other expeditions have similar items that you can not transfer.
To put this into context: I have to keep an old Expedition #4 save slot that I have no use for just to be able to look at the expedition only items

And if this reminds you of Princess Peach Showtime... that is just because they do share the "outfits" gimmik. And to be fair, this one predates the Nintendo game quite a bit as far as I know.
