You select 6 "character cards" and then play against a boss. But since the game is a pile of pay-to-win trash, the boss throws at you so many debuf that only few teams actually work and even then you have to repeat the same exact action at the same exact time each time you play the level. And you have to grind them 30-60 times to get (most) rewards for each event. And every time you launch an ability you have cutscenes that you have to press a button to skip....
The teams are so specific that you can even write "walkthru" for the quest that tell you what to use when (let's hope you find one that you can build or... just pay for more characters).

- randomly pairs you with another player, each other using "their" team.
- does not allow any form of communication
- has you and your partner alternating turns.

Well, this apparently is what Bandai is planning to add to their One Piece gacha game as an anniversary gift.
They had a test months ago with a trial quest with fixed teams (so it eliminates the random factor) and people already hated it.
If you don't get it, imagine a very simplified version: a "Co-op" Minecraft game with a Wither boss. You play in couples, each player can only bring a bow or a sword, the boss only takes damage from the bow when flying and from the sword when on ground and you have to hope to get matched to a player with the other weapon....
